IDF Uncovers Massive Weapons Cache
Arutz Sheva ^ | 21/1/14 | Maayana Miskin

Soldiers and Border Police found a large weapons cache in an operation in a Palestinian town in the "seam zone" - the area located east of the 1949 armistice line, and to the west of the Judea and Samaria security barrier.

Lieutenant-Colonel Roi Nahari, who heads the regiment which made the discovery, spoke to Arutz Sheva about the operation, which took place in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

“The regiment, along with Border Police and other forces, entered the village. Several people who are connected to terrorist activity were arrested, and a large quantity of weapons was discovered,” he said.

The weapons were found hidden in various places in homes in the town, he said, including in bedrooms, under cupboards, and behind closets. Rooms were built with double walls, or false stones, he said, adding that the work had apparently been done by someone with experience.

Soldiers did what they could to “prevent repeated use” of the hiding places without causing undue damage to the homes, Nahari said. The buildings weapons were hidden in were “residential homes, with families, children,” he explained.

The weapons included bombs as well as guns and other weapons, he said.

.....of the hiding places without causing undue damage to the homes,......

They should have bull-dozed them like Rachel Corey.

I wonder how many such caches they have here. They’ve had a long time to accumulate.

I suspect that an informer or undercover agent tipped them off to this one.

I don't think it's a good idea to propose bull-dozing homes as punishment for keeping and bearing arms. Let's reserve that for people who openly declare their willingness to kill other people for religious purposes.

Why should the Israelis both to arrest them? They’ll eventually let them go, as they have been doing all last year at the urging of the USA.

A laudable sentiment on the surface. However, Muslim Palestinians allowing terrorist Muslims of same fake origin to secrete weapons in their home is not “right to bear arms” in my opinion. I stand on my earlier comment.

Good for you.

Do you support confiscation of arms and the destruction of the homes of the "extreme conservatives" just described by the Governor of New York. He has suggested that there is no place in New York for those who are "right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay".

If the possession of arms alone becomes the criteria for destruction, then I see a problem.

You mean these were registered, licensed caches that the IDF just decided to trace back using their records and then confiscate before evicting them, as Cuomo Jr. advocates? It’s not similar. These were secret weapons caches, specifically kept for waging a terrorist campaign of murder. I’m with the guy who advocated detonating the bombs where they’re found (with the family outside, of course).

Damn straight. Evacuate the house, set a fuse and run. That’ll get rid of the hiding place, with damage to the house commensurate with the damage its occupants contemplated inflicting.
