HOUSTON—A Mexican national facing execution in Texas this week has drawn support from Mexican officials, a former Texas governor and U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, who appealed to Gov. Rick Perry and state courts for a reprieve — so far, unsuccessfully. Edgar Tamayo, 46, a Mexican citizen, is scheduled to be put to death Wednesday for fatally shooting Houston Police Officer Guy Gaddis in 1994. Gaddis, 24, had been flagged down near a nightclub by a man who accused Tamayo of robbing him. The officer arrested Tamayo, handcuffed him and put him in the back of his patrol car. The officer was driving away when Tamayo drew a pistol he had concealed and shot Gaddis three times in the back of the head.

The perp commited the crime in Texas not Mexico. Therefore he's subject to the laws there. Hang 'em high!

Suggestion:

If kerry is so interested let him hold the perps hand while he is in an electric chair. That would be comforting for all interests.

If we grant him citizenship five minutes before we execute him, will that make them feel better?

I feel a musical coming on:

Tamayo, Tamayo, we love it, Tamayo, your death is just days away.

Typical top down statist, don’t they know the people of Texas via the jury hand down punishment, so the Governor can’t interfere with the execution.

He shot a guy three times in the back of the head...good grief.

Even the Messy-can officials would gun this guy down at the scene if they could.

Come to Texas and kill a cop, a child and or a pregnant woman....guess what? You're gonna get the needle.

Better than three caps in the back of the skull.

There’s a lot more protest over this than in the whole country over congress breaching contract with career military last week.

Don’t doubt there are liberals in Texas

1994...So ah, anybody care to guess how long the perp would have lived had he done this in Mexico to a Mexican cop? Does anybody believe he would have survived the subsequent arrest, or even the Mexican “appeals” process?

Interesting how they become ‘Mexican nationals’ and ‘Mexican citizens’ when faced with this kind of situation.

A ‘cop killer’ is still a cop killer, regardless of his nationality.

Actually, Hanoi John Kerry should be taken into custody and face trial for the Acts of Treason that he committed.
