Officials in Oregon have ruled that Sweet Cakes by Melissa, a bakery that made national news after refusing to make a cake for a gay wedding last year, violated a lesbian couples civil rights.
Owners Aaron and Melissa Klein, Christians who oppose same-sex unions, reacted to the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries ruling in an interview with KATU-TV, telling the outlet that they stand by their convictions.
We still stand by what we believe from the beginning, ( said Aaron Klein). Im not sure what future holds, but as far as where were at right now
its almost as if the state is hostile toward Christian businesses.

Another option:
3. Sell the little statues on top separately. The same-sex ones are out of stock, sorry.
The poster won't answer that question because to do so will force him to either lie or reveal more of his agenda than he wants too.
Yeah, forget almost. For all you lib lurkers out there who are outraged that these bakers should refuse... You want the freedom for deviants not to be persecuted for their deviant behavior, then you have to allow non deviants the same freedom - don’t persecute them for being normal. Oh, don’t like my use of deviant and normal? Look up the meanings and the statistics, then sit down and shut up.
Instead of water in the recipe, use tuna oil.
I guess we need to buy cakes from that bakery. Gays, Christians do NOT want your business.
They didn’t refuse the people, just the event. How is that violating civil rights?
They should have made them a birthday cake....double fudge.
Then I guess you would agree that Jewish cake bakers have to bake cakes for Nazis who want swastika decorations on the cake. Or Black bakers bake cakes for Klan members with pictures of lynched black people on it.
Does it have to do with their 'Confederate leanings'?
..they just wanted to bully the owners...Period.
What’s staggering to me (though, I know why this is being done), is that no gay-supporter who knows how to bake hasn’t started a business to cater to the queer.
So, you are saying that if a graphic design firm is approached by a pornographer, they have to create pornography for them? A muslim-owned business has to offer pork products? Isn't there any difference when the product is not a manufactured, shrink-wrapped and bar coded thing hanging on a hook, but rather a hand-made work of art requiring specialized talents?
Haven’t vetted a specific source for you, so google “compelled speech” and “first amendment” lots of stuff.
Taking a page from Phil Robertson. I love it. I think Duck Dynasty broke ground by standing on their principles and values.
Ah, but your post assumes a neutrality of government that doesn’t exist.
The government, as controlled by the left, has a distinctly anti-Christian agenda,
and the gays are a weapon to be USED in that agenda.
What we see here is the criminalization of Christian belief,
and eventually, that’s what the left wants.
Agree. What they like to munch begins with “ca,” but it’s not cake.
Besides the religious aspects of the case, there are also free speech considerations. Look at Wooley vs. Maynard and W Va State Board of Education vs. Barnette. Rulings there confirm the rights of individuals (including businesses engaged in public accommodaton commerce) to refuse accommodation of ideas they find objectionable.
I wonder if it would be a legal option to officially stop making wedding cakes completely. But offer holy matrimony cakes for religious celebrations that meet a specific criteria.
