We use Facebook for many things, some of us use it for posting pictures of our food, others for posting the infamous selfie, and some of us to vent our frustrations with thegovernment and politics as a whole. No matter the reason you use Facebook, you expect to be able to post just about anything you want(aside from death threats to the President) without being hassled since our right to free speech is protected.
Well thats not the experience Blaine Cooper from Humboldt, AZ had. The 34 year old posted a rant on Facebook showing his frustration with the country and within 24 hours he was contacted by the police and FBI. On August 23, Officer Jason Kaufman of the Prescott Valley Police Department contacted Cooper and told him that he needed to come down to the station for questioning with the FBI. He complied and the interview, with federal agents present the whole time, lasted 45 minutes then Cooper was released after it was determined he wasnt a threat.
They had every Facebook post I had ever made in a huge file, along with all my wifes information, and parents information,
Cooper stated that complying with the request for an interview saved him from having his home raided by the Feds, and that by complying he was diffusing the situation, according to police who said his home may have been raided otherwise.

You should reply and thank him for honoring the birth of Jesus.
In my opinion, posting anything on FaceBook is not a good idea.
Your post is worthless without photos.
Wow!
Yoy are correct. But if he had not agreed to come in, his house would have been raided and no telling what evidence that showed him committing crimes would have been planted.
“Real question: are anti-regime comments on FR being monitored, & individual FReepers attitudes noted, by the NSA po-po? Is it as risky as doing so on Facebook?”
A few years back an old FReeper posted a playful comment about Obemba. In less than 24-hours the FBI thugs were knocking on his door. They had interpreted his comment as being ‘threatening’. Does that answer your question?

NO! “Are you charging me with a crime or not?”
“Not without legal representation, I won’t come.”
My guess is one of his “friends” called the FBI and turned him in.
This is the truest post of all the posts on this thread!
Bump to the top.
Freepers, read TheGipperWasRight’s posts. It is true!
Smart position.
Yes. The Jim Robinson thread from March 2009 is also very instructive. And that was only two months into the current regime.
Oh well, I’m already categorized to a fare-thee-well as a `dangerous rightwinger’. Adding FReeper to the list won’t be make no nebbermind no how.
Well, if the point is to rock his boat a bit, that won't work. I think he attends regularly, it's just that his church is convince Jesus was a Liberal.
I don't read his letters, but then my wife says "Oh, no, not again!" and, of course, I have to see what he said this year. Always ticks me off, which is the intent I imagine.
If any member of law enforcement is asking you questions they are trying to have you dig your own hole. If they are even talking to you you are suspected of something, anything, and they want to arrest you. If the FBI is at your door it is very serious regardless of the reason and your freedom is at stake.
When I registered my business name (machine shop) with the state gestapo from the ATF were at my door and snooping around my shop within a week. They “heard” I was making guns. BS. They wanted me to know they are watching and anyone related to manufacturing is guilty until proven innocent. They just wanted to “take a look around” and ask some questions about the nature of my business. I, not so politely, told them they are not welcome without a warrant and they are to contact me only through my lawyer. I am sure I will be raided someday or my taxes will be complicated when I least expect it. They were not there to just ask a few questions. They were there to investigate me, gather evidence, and prosecute me. By the way. I do not, and never have, done anything related to firearms in my shop. It is not my responsibilty to prove to the ATF otherwise.
Tell him yes, Jesus wants the church to provide charity, but if one does not work, then neither shall he eat.
Having read the FB status in question, he was talking about shooting police officers and federal agents. I’m not surprised they wanted to talk to him.
