We use Facebook for many things, some of us use it for posting pictures of our food, others for posting the infamous selfie, and some of us to vent our frustrations with thegovernment and politics as a whole. No matter the reason you use Facebook, you expect to be able to post just about anything you want(aside from death threats to the President) without being hassled since our right to free speech is protected.
Well thats not the experience Blaine Cooper from Humboldt, AZ had. The 34 year old posted a rant on Facebook showing his frustration with the country and within 24 hours he was contacted by the police and FBI. On August 23, Officer Jason Kaufman of the Prescott Valley Police Department contacted Cooper and told him that he needed to come down to the station for questioning with the FBI. He complied and the interview, with federal agents present the whole time, lasted 45 minutes then Cooper was released after it was determined he wasnt a threat.
They had every Facebook post I had ever made in a huge file, along with all my wifes information, and parents information,
Cooper stated that complying with the request for an interview saved him from having his home raided by the Feds, and that by complying he was diffusing the situation, according to police who said his home may have been raided otherwise.

Curiosity question, do the Lefties treat you with the same respect?
The reason I ask is that I have BIL who manages to get one last dig in every year in the Christmas letter he sends out.
“Never speak to the FBI...even if they ask nicely. And if pressed remember dont say anything without a lawyer.
They are not your friend......”

Sure as hell NEVER talk to the Barack Obama/Eric Holder FBI without your lawyer. Holder and his operatives have corrupted ATF, FBI and other components of the DOJ. The ambitious civil “servants” in those agencies may have welcomed the corruption as a way to gain promotions and other favors. The cancer is spreading.
Only my relatives and close friends know my political positions on things, and they just "tolerate" me as a result. Most of the "friends" I have on FB are old co-workers, school mates, models (I do glamour photography now) and they don't know from my posts what my positions are. I get work from FB (photography), so I don't want to burn bridges that way.
And record the conversation visably in front of them and your lawyer.
excellent Idea
Actually, posting rants in any social forum is a GREAT idea. Do we or do we not have a 1st Amendment Right?
Social media forums can be argued to be the new town square, without the need for ‘permits.’
Real question: are anti-regime comments on FR being monitored, & individual FReepers’ attitudes noted, by the NSA po-po? Is it as risky as doing so on Facebook?
Correct he should be suing them for intimidation tactics and potentially violating his 1st Amendment Rights.
So he excercised free speach in public as well? Clearly a threat to the state.
Exactly!
That little, “come down to the station”, was a warning to ALL conservatives to SHUT UP!
If they state that they are going to search you home if you don't comply, its clearly intimidation tactics. And are you super positive that they won't be walking out with whatever it is that they decided they needed to find?
Short answer on that is YES!
Regarding salty talk aimed at the president (or other officials) vs visits from the SS

To think otherwise is truly a level of ignorance that belies any good FReeper or conspiracy nutcase.
“Should he have had to comply with coming to the station to be questioned to begin with?”
No, he did not need to comply with the interview but that would have been ‘probably cause’ to get a search/arrest warrant with these FBI and ‘police’ thugs who would go to a judge with totalitarian leanings and he would happily sign the warrant. He might even drool or have other bodily secretions while signing it.
Ah yes . . . the “champions of dissent” who run the country show their tolerance!
“Kaufman of the Prescott Valley Police Department contacted Cooper and told him that he needed to come down to the station for questioning with the FBI. “
“No Officer whatever your name is, I don’t. Have a nice day.”
“They just pass laws to make it look like theyre doing something.”
Exactly! In their minds they were elected to ‘legislate’. It never occurs to them that vetoing is also legislating.
So you hiding under your bed is going to make you a free man?
Nor is any member of law enforcement now.
