The mayor of a New Jersey city that sustained severe flooding from Hurricane Sandy claims the Christie administration withheld millions of dollars in recovery grants because she refused to sign off on a politically connected development.
Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer tells The Associated Press that Gov. Chris Christies lieutenant governor and a top community development official said recovery funds would flow to her city if the commercial development went forward. MSNBC first reported her comments Saturday.
Zimmer says Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno pulled her aside at a May event and told her unless the project is approved we are not going to be able to help you.

It sounds like the Christie Administration was saying there was relief funds available for a certain development, but the mayor of Hoboken prefers the method where you give the Democrat the money first, and then they decide what to do with it.In other words, it was a tug of war between the Democrats and Republicans over who was going to get the credit/patronage/payola for the development.

You/we won’t see nothing from any kind of expose like that, because there will never be an expose like that.

The Sandy Recovery Improvement Act of 2013 (H.R. 219) included $150 million for fisheries in Alaska and $2 million to fix a Smithsonian roof. The vote on the bill was 403 to 0 so NO members of Congress actually had the stones to stand up and vote against it. (Think of all the poor, wet children!)

Not one House member called out that lineup of hogs at the trough, filled with phony outrage.

Maybe Crispy can still run as VP on Hildebeast’s ticket. The MSM will lose all interest in any of his misadventures. :-)

Christie deserves such exposure—even though the Dems deserve the same.
To: lowbridge
I saw that on MSNBC this morning.
But they admitted that it was perfectly legal if that did happen.

I so remember that- Republicans did nothing about it as usual. There was another Republican state that got hit with a massive ice storm, same thing happened....it was around the same time I believe...
In this story, the Mayor was requesting 1/3 of the pot of money (100 M out 300 M) and the city is only 2 miles wide.
No wonder they got refused...
