Clearly immigration was why we lost in 2012. It had nothing to do with a milquetoast Republican candidate who had been on both sides of so many issues that a good portion of Republican voters just stayed home. No, forget the moderate candidate. It was the Hispanic vote that killed us!
Also, Ive got some unicorns in my back yard Ill be glad to sell you on the cheap.
NEWSMAX The House Republican leadership is expected to release a one-page list of principles governing immigration reform efforts next week that for the first time backs legal status for undocumented immigrants.
But the plan falls short of providing for an immediate pathway to citizenship as outlined in the comprehensive Senate bill passed last year.
House Speaker John Boehner, with the support of Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Majority Whip Kevin McCarthy, Republican Conference Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, is expected to circulate the plan to GOP members before it is publicly released ahead of President Barack Obamas State of the Union address Jan. 28.
Rep. Lee Terry told the Journal the move could help win hard-to-get GOP support.
If it doesnt lead to a pathway to citizenship, I think you will get more people to at least embrace that or be OK with that, the Nebraska Republican said. However, he added, It will still be a very difficult sell.

Bring back American jobs first.
Jobs.
No immigration change, until our unemployment rate falls below 5%.
Hardly, it was one person Mittens with no fire in the belly. . .
Bye Bye John
We need comprehensive immigration enforcement.
I am glad Cornyn is saying this now instead of after the primary.
Shut up, Cornyn. Start looking around for a cushy lobbyist career after Texas votes you out of the Senate in next year’s primary. Maybe Carlos Slim, the Mexican billionaire, has an opening for you in his empire. After all, someone did a heck of a job in getting his company the ObamaPhone contract.
Make that 2016
Any immigration reform that doesn’t include the words ‘wall’ and ‘deportation’ is not going to fly in my book.
Are these Quisling traitors just cowards, or are they being blackmailed?
I can’t get my hands around why so many Repubs think all these new Hispanic Voters will ever vote Republican?
I don’t want thieves breaking into my home.
I don’t want illegals breaking into my country.
I don’t want democrats giving my TV set to a thief as a reward.
I don’t want democrats giving citizenship to illegals as a reward.
The only immigration reform I care about is sending illegals home.
It’s how most Americans feel who aren’t getting legal bribes from people who want cheap labor to undermine citizens.
“Are these Quisling traitors just cowards, or are they being blackmailed?”
Both. And they also listen to all the whispers in their ear by the Chamber of Commerce and Chuck Schumer.
Legal American voters couldn’t care less about this issue, so what gives homie?
The GOP can’t win if they push immigration reform. The only immigration reform I want to see is that which encourages these illegals to take there kids and go back to there home countries.
Deny them everything. They’re not American Citizens,so give them nothing.
These SOB’s are treated better than our Veterans.
Simply enforcing the existing legislation on the books would be pretty close to radical immigration reform at this point.
Build the cuffing fence! Not in 2017, but RIGHT NOW, this year, all the way from Chula Vista to Brownsville. THEN set up the drone patrols, and the electronic tracking systems, and the subterranean detection devices, to catch the construction and use of tunnels that pass under the surface at the border. With properly controlled access points, the flow of immigrants in and out of the country may be much more contained and managed.
Back-up plan: begin construction of a ship canal along the inside of this fence, all the way from Texas to California, which would have the effect of turning El Paso into a seaport. And how about having waterfront property in Arizona? Of course, it would be on a pretty high cliff, but think of the view.
No doubt, a lack of comprehensive immigration reform is why the Republican presidential candidate lost by a few percentage points in 2012.
If we had added 11 million more Democrat voters the loss would have been quite a bit more definitive.
