Lawmakers for at least two U.S. states say they should conduct executions by firing squad if opposition to capital punishment by pharmaceutical companies makes it hard to obtain drugs for lethal injections.
States have turned to pharmacies that customize drugs and adopted untested new mixes after supplies of traditional execution drugs were cut off by manufacturers opposed to their use for the procedure.
The debate over lethal injections was reignited on Thursday when an inmate gasped and convulsed violently during his execution in Ohio as the state used a two-drug method for the first time in the United States.

I don’t see a problem with hanging.
Firing squad or hanging would suffice for me. Serial killers, rapists, and pedophiles should get hanging: more of an opportunity for them to suffer. Give the “regular murderers” the firing squad. It’s instant and under no circumstances could I think it would ever be considered cruel and/or unusual.
“I dont see a problem with hanging.”
In public.
I think the main problem is that we lack people with the skillset necessary to do them properly. But I'm sure we could hire people from a more civilized country like Singapore to train us.
Whazzamatter?
No more rope?
The constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.
It does not guarantee a painless execution.
Yep, I think that public hangings should be brought back.
OTOH, I'm not as confident about FedGuv getting much say in criminal justice as I used to be.
What method did the founding fathers use to execute criminals?
If it was being used when the constitution was written then the founding fathers did not find it “cruel or unusual”.
I am not a constitutional scholar but I believe I understand the intent of the founding fathers. They were not against capital punishment, they were against torture.
To stretch the phrase “cruel or unusual” to mean the condemned criminal should die painlessly is a travesty and certainly a misinterpretation of the constitution.
Have gun... will travel!
What’s wrong with strapping the guilty party down like he was going to receive a lethal injection and then just having the executioner fire a bullet into his brain?
Lethal lead injection. A firing squad is too iffy. If the shooters don’t finish him off, then the guy in charge has to deliver the brain shot anyway.
The states should ask the drug companies for the same drugs being used in places like Belgium and Holland for euthanasia. Belgium is considering officially approving euthanasia for children (being done on the qt already) , surely those drugs would be painless enough for serial killers and such.
If I had a choice for execution a firing squad would do just fine. At most a few scant seconds if that of pain and then adios... Forget the injection crap although its less messy.
All in the math.
The death sentence should be as easy to get as welfare for those wneed it.
Impalement on the public square.
Publicize this ad much as their deed.
Really make them famous.
Yup...about the only thing the muzzie filth get right...
Though I prefer a guillotine...quicker, cleaner and hard to miss...but a bit messy : )

Nor hanging, nor firing squad or the sword, the end result will still be the same. Hanging would probably the least messy so perhaps that is the way to go. Then there is the cost of building the gallows, loading the ammo or sharpening the sword. There is always a downside to these issues. (sarc)
I am by no means anti-death penalty, but I have an issue when the death penalty is applied for crimes that didn’t result in a murder. The issue with rapist being executed is what about when the woman lies about rape? It’s not like it hasn’t happened(Most recent example is Brian Banks who served 5 years over a lie) Would women rapist and pedophiles(and if you think they don’t exist you are wrong) also be executed or just men(thereby violating equal protection)
I don’t think the death penalty should be applied if there was no murder. In the examples you cited, what about when women lie? Men have served prison time over false accusing. Would women who commit those acts also be given the death penalty or just men(which violates the equal protection clause)
