Firing squad or hanging would suffice for me. Serial killers, rapists, and pedophiles should get hanging: more of an opportunity for them to suffer. Give the “regular murderers” the firing squad. It’s instant and under no circumstances could I think it would ever be considered cruel and/or unusual.
I am by no means anti-death penalty, but I have an issue when the death penalty is applied for crimes that didn’t result in a murder. The issue with rapist being executed is what about when the woman lies about rape? It’s not like it hasn’t happened(Most recent example is Brian Banks who served 5 years over a lie) Would women rapist and pedophiles(and if you think they don’t exist you are wrong) also be executed or just men(thereby violating equal protection)
I don’t think the death penalty should be applied if there was no murder. In the examples you cited, what about when women lie? Men have served prison time over false accusing. Would women who commit those acts also be given the death penalty or just men(which violates the equal protection clause)
