DENVER — Saying some neighborhoods have more pot shops than banks, Colorado Democrats on Wednesday rejected a proposal to ban the use of public assistance cards to obtain cash at marijuana-shop ATMs.
The Senate State, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee voted 3-2 along party lines against a GOP proposal to add marijuana shops to the list of places where recipients of public assistance can’t use their government-issued EBT cards to access cash.

“Already we are operating an industry which is not allowed under federal law,” said Marble, one of the chief lawmakers involved with Colorado’s marijuana regulation bills.
If federal authorities notice public benefit card use at marijuana shops, “I have a feeling we’re going to see trouble we’re not ready to deal with,” she said.

We all knew this was coming.
A couple years ago my idiot niece was saying that pot should be legal and yes, the poor deserve to have pot too.
Socialized pot? People who use EBT to buy pot aren’t really paying taxes, either...are they? So the person who buys pot out of pocket (37% tax) and receives no government assistance is financing welfare twice?

When you can use EBT cards at ATMs to get cash, the taxpayers could be paying for anything from bread to cigarettes to hookers to contracts for murder. Unbelievable.
In all fairness they need that cash to buy Doritos and cheetos when the “Munchies” hit.
How about we just ban direct cash payments / public assistance cards?

A local tv station here in Indiana got a file of where Indiana TANF card swipes were transacted.
Hawaii, Disney (CA and FL), Vegas, Puerto Rico, Nevada brothels, etc.
These “poor” people are something else. What a country.
Got into a discussion with some pot-head on another site and said just that. He was trying to tell me how it wouldn’t ever happened. t couldn’t make heads or tails of his argument, so I just bowed out. Never argue with a pot head.
