Road rage on Interstate 80/94 blamed for shooting 14 hours ago Elvia Malagon elvia.malagon@nwi.com, (219) 933-3246
GARY | Police were searching Wednesday for a driver who shot a Valparaiso man during a road rage incident on I-80/94.
The 48-year-old shooting victim was heading home from work at 4 p.m. when he merged onto Interstate 80/94 from Cline Avenue, police said. He cut off another driver as he was getting onto the eastbound lanes of I-80/94.
He kept driving and soon noticed the man he had cut off was driving alongside him. He said the other driver rolled down his window and began yelling at him.
The Valparaiso man started driving faster to avoid the man. He told police he saw the angry man was catching up to him and then heard a loud bang.
The Valparaiso man's red 1999 Dodge Ram pickup truck's rear window shattered. He then realized he had been shot in his upper back, Indiana State Police said.

Rules of the Road, Miami Style:
If you clear the other guy’s front end by more than 18 inches, you really haven’t cut him off. From 3 to 17 inches is questionable...less then 3 inches is considered rude! /s;)
All highways designated as “Interstate” should have no less then three lanes! This would go a long way in speeding up traffic and perhaps reducing road rage incidents.
I got behind someone the other day who took that to the extreme. Rather than merging onto the freeway, they came to a complete STOP and waited for the traffic to clear before SLOWLY entering the freeway. (At 15 mph less than the speed limit, naturally.)

A nice thought, especially for those who wield the eminent domain pens.
When Mr. GG2 first moved to Atlanta he was on the expressway and one of the brothers cut him off and then pulled up a handgun and was waving it around. Mr. GG2 reached over in the backseat of his truck and picked up Margaret, his AR15 and pointed it at the guy. He said the guy almost had a wreck trying to get off on an exit ramp. End of road rage. :-)
Now that’s what you call peace thru superior firepower.
BTW how do you and Margaret get along? ;)
Well he recently sold Margaret, a Bushmaster to a friend and bought a new Windham HBC which he named BB (Black Beauty). But the guys all still call the Bushmaster Margaret. LOL!!!
