If I were them I wouldn’t make “book” on Christie. UK “Bookies” bet on information they get. If they’re following American media then that’s the basis of them playing the odds. Anybody know what we call a “bookie” are called in the UK ? I know it isn’t “bookie”.

It is ‘bookie’. Lived in the UK for the best part of 30 years. Everyone calls them bookies. There are bookies on every main street.

Anybody know what we call a bookie are called in the UK ? I know it isnt bookie.According to this link, they say "turf accountant" and "betting shop."
