The bad news continues at J.C. Penney.
The ailing retailer announced Wednesday that it was cutting 2,000 jobs and closing 33 "underperforming" stores in an effort to rein in expenses.
The store closings -- listed here -- are likely to be complete by early May. J.C. Penney said it expected the moves to generate $65 million in annual cost savings.

You Freepers need to realize that their sales and stock price may have tanked and they are perilously close to bankruptcy after they embraced two moms and two dads for Mother's Day and Father's Day in 2012 ... but at least they were tolerant and inclusive ... and that is good!
Countdown to the freeper homosexual defense team spouting off it had nothing to with their ads in 3-2-1....
Penny’s sucked way before people started fussing about those ads. Get a grip.
The idiot CEO is gone.
Restructuring is occurring. Stock should start moving up based on this news.
It’s going to take JCP a few years to recover from this fiasco. Hopefully, other companies will learn the lesson that we don’t want this non-sense pushed on us.
JC Penney is the Kmart of high-end department stores.
Seeing how it’s early January, is this part of the 2013 recovery summer or the 2014 recovery summer? We need this cleared up....
Only one closure on the West Coast, at Arrow Mall in Rancho Cucamonga.
Maybe they’re going to consolidate operations in CA, OR, and WA and ultimately become a West Coast regional chain of stores.

... and they're right ... cause we all know that boycotts by Christian Mothers and the American Family Association, among several other groups, never, ever have an effect.

Main reasons for JPC failure:
1. Eliminated the multiple sales, coupons, and reduced price racks that customers came to know and love.
2. Eliminated the solid brands that customers came to know and love and replaced them with weird, trendy boutique stuff.
3. POed a heck of a lot of people with blatant pandering to homos, which was completely stupid because JCP is not the kind of place urban homos would automatically shop at, whereas the existing JPC base included a great number of straight, devout, middle-class folk.
If only minimum wage were 15 bucks they’d have succeeded. /sarc
Homos are everywhere. I don’t worry about em because I don’t go looking for em. What bothers me 95% more are the 2000 people losing their jobs.
When you target 2% of the population, you shouldn’t be surprised if your sales drop.
h they built the ship Titanic to sail the ocean blue;
And they thought they had a ship that the water would not go through;
But the Lord’s Almighty Hand said that ship would never land.
It was sad when the great ship went down...
(Chorus)
It was sad, SO SAD!
It was sad, TOO BAD!
It was sad when the great ship went down
To the bottom of the seeeeaaaaaa
(Husbands and wives, little children lost their lives!)
It was sad when the great ship went down
It’s not a good idea to alienate 30% of your market to please 2% of your market. Moronic - why even dip into that (gay) issue at all? But, to tell the truth, I never heard of that controversy until now, and most of my recent clothes purchases have been at JCP or Fred Meyer. For men, I think they have pretty decent stuff, not the frumpy stuff that they seem to prefer for women.
Oh, you don't have to do that. They'll shove themselves into your face and demand that you profess approval for their filthy anal obsessions.
We’ll, Americans vote dem and Obama a LOT!!!!!!! So, I see no reason to trust them to deplore fagosexuality.
Natchez Mall Penny's is a small store in a small but very pleasant older mall.
not enough faggots to keep them open? well lets hope other companies learn from penny's pandering to the filthy 1%...
1% of anything isn't enough to run a business on
Faggotry doesn’t sell.
Why are so many of the closing in Wisconsin?
