Poll: Kay Hagan behind GOP opponents

Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan trails her potential Republican challengers as she works to retain her seat in November, according to a new poll.

The North Carolina Democrat trailed each of the Republicans vying to challenge her in the general election by 1 or 2 points, according to a poll out Tuesday from left-leaning Public Policy Polling.

Hagan is a top target of Republicans looking to take over control of the Senate in 2014. Tuesday’s poll is consistent with the past few months of polling, which have shown a sizable lead Hagan enjoyed in September evaporate as she runs near even with the Republicans in the field.

A frontrunner is also emerging in the GOP primary. State House Speaker Thom Tillis leads the pack with 19 percent; physician Greg Brannon and nurse practitioner Heather Grant were at 11 percent, Pastor Mark Harris was at 8 percent and radio personality Bill Flynn was at 7 percent.

In a hypothetical November matchup, Hagan trails Tillis 43 percent to 42 percent and Grant 42 percent to 41 percent. She trails the other candidates by 2 percentage points.

Hagan’s approval ratings in the state were also underwater. Just 39 percent of voters approve of the job Hagan is doing in the Senate, compared with 49 percent who disapprove. That’s down from a 43 percent to 49 percent approval she registered in December.

The senator’s approval closely parallels feelings in the state about President Barack Obama’s health care law. Thirty-eight percent of North Carolina voters approve of the Affordable Care Act, compared with 48 percent who disapprove.

Republicans have been using Obamacare to target senators like Hagan they see as vulnerable for reelection.

As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, Democrat candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the "Affordable Care Act :

OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.”

Repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American family would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

====================================================

LOCK-STEPPING PARTY LOYALTY NOT SEEN SINCE 1940's ERA EUROPE Obama And The Dumbos marching in lockstep. The persistent Dumbocrat drumbeat ---- in obeisance to Obama ---- kept ringing reassuringly in our ears: "If you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

SEN. KAY HAGAN (D-N.C.) on ObamaCare: ‘People who have insurance they’re happy with can keep it’ “We need to support the private insurance industry so that people who have insurance they’re happy with can keep it while also providing a backstop option for people without access to affordable coverage.” (“Republicans Vent As Other Compromise Plans Get Aired,” National Journal’s Congress Daily, 6/18/09)

I spent most of the day Sunday in Charlotte NC. There were ads on radio, TV, and billboards ripping her and Obamacare. She’s toast.

Il Douche is coming to Raleigh tomorrow ( oh boy ). Dim Sen. Kay Hagan will be in....Washington.
Feeble useless try at distancing herself from The 0ne.

That’s great news. (I assume you were there for the Football Game. What a heart-breaker.)

Maybe Kay Hagan goes away. But hopefully her replacement won't be another Elizabeth Dole-type RINO.
