Let us hope that they do not tamper with the perfection of the products.
Jim Beam — Because they have a hard time pronouncing Goldschlager...maybe.
It’s getting harder and harder to ‘buy American’.
The Japanese have a good history of respecting alcohol so there’s hope it’ll do well.
mmmmm Beam and sushi -
Makes me want to go out and buy a bottle of Early Times.
Sad. Jim Beam isn’t far from here. A serious part of the local economy.
But I drink Elisha Craig 13 year. Heaven Hill is America’s largest family-owned and operated distillery. Come to Kentucky take the tour. There is nothing like the smell of the inside of a rick house.
Pour a little Jim Beam on some raw fish. I call it “Jushi”.
And this is why they did that “reduced alcohol” publicity stunt last year.
There was a time when when Suntory might have done an NYSE listing. But since the “reforms” from a decade ago, large foreign companies have made a point of delisting their stocks from US exchanges, making it difficult for domestic retail investors to buy their stock. From what I can tell, Suntory is really well-run, but the pink sheet spreads are a little rich for me.
WTF? I don’t drink, but thats like selling the statue of liberty for scrap copper.....
They are going to rename it Jim Jap Beam.
wow
i used to know a Beam heir from Bardstown
There are very few large-scale bourbon distilling companies which remain based in Kentucky.
Buffalo Trace, Heaven Hill and Brown-Forman/Woodford Reserve are the only ones that come to mind.
Any others?
Maker’s Mark watered down its product not long ago. This would show stronger short-term profits (at the future expense of the brand).
Perfect strategy for preparing to sell out.
This is both good and bad, meaning it works out for the beam distillery and their employees in the short term, but will eventually mean that jim beam will be relocated to china in the future. Even the Japanese know how to outsource and exploit a brand name for profit. You could bottle varnish and slap a jim beam label on it, and people would buy it solely for the label.
Wow! I didn’t know there was that much money in liquor.
