Subpoenas could be issued as soon as Monday for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christies former deputy chief of staff and campaign manager, whose heads rolled after explosive e-mails implicated them in the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal, sources said.
And the ongoing Bridgegate investigation has paralyzed Christies office, with a ripple effect thats frozen several top moves and appointments as a result of the mess.
Sources said on Sunday that state Senate Democrats have delayed the confirmation hearing for Kevin ODowd, Christies nominee for attorney general, who is his current chief of staff.
Sources said Democratic legislators want time to gather more information so they can grill ODowd on what he knew about the closure of lanes on the countrys busiest bridge as part of a political vendetta.

It’s not over till the fat man sings!
I really, really wish people would stop adding -gate as a suffix to every political event to indicate a scandal. It isn’t very clever.
Using the IRS to target political opponents is perfectly legal, however. (Not that two wrongs make a right. Whoever tied up the bridge traffic should be prosecuted.)
Do what Obama and Holder do: Ignore them.
I think Christie would rather add a donut to this scandal. How about calling it BridgeDonut, instead?
Yeah, but it would have been cool if this had happened in San Francisco. Would it be Golden Gate-gate or just Golden Gate?
thanx for playing
Brig-a-donut.
Well played...
I agree. We don’t need any more “gates”.
A scandal is a scandal is a scandal.........As Rush says, words have meaning.
What a stupid stunt. Even more stupid to leave an electronic paper trail.
Let it play itself out. The ELECTED Republicans? They are the ones to watch. The media will concentrate their scorn on the WHOLE party.
The stupidity is in his thinking he could stay in the presidential run and be the governor of NJ.
This is business as usual in NJ. It’s the culture.
The media is having such a good time with this, not realizing we don’t want Christie to run for pres. So that’s a good thing. It keeps them chewing on roadkill instead of causing trouble elsewhere.
If Christie said, “I’m not running for president. This is how we do things in NJ, but my NJ tactics would not work in Missouri, so I’m out”, the media would be stuck with a non story. He’s an idiot of the magnitude of hugging Obama a week before the last election.
And it illustrates the dichotomy of this focus vs the absence of the headline “Subpoenas for Benghazi Officials”
I agree. The new 'suffix' should be 'ghazi'. How about 'Bridgeghazi'?
The dems had their sights on him ever since he was up in the polls after the hurricane. They were looking for a way to destroy him.
Anybody who is perceived as a threat to the dems’ entrenched stranglehold on power must be destroyed!
Sweet. Take him down. He’s a traitor.
Obviously he knew of the closures, the whole state did. The point is did he direct that to happen. I believe the answer to that is no. The stupidity here knows no bounds. The staff was seeking the endorsement of the DEMOCRAT mayor of Fort Lee? They could expect that when the sun don’t shine. See, uber RINOs think if they reach across the aisle, the dems will reciprocate. They do but only with hatchets.
Meanwhile, I am glad this has taken Cristi out. I am glad he is flailing to regain some control of his situation which is impossible given that state and its politics. Someone else said it before I did, he can remain a lightning rod for the press till hopefully mid 2016 while we get a stealth candidate in, running and elected. Cristi had no chance against the Clintoon anyway....heads up he loses by at least 8% and probably would not have even carried NJ anyway.
Where are your Democrat friends now, Tubby Turncoat?
