DENVER (AP) -- Food stamps for a pot brownie? It's an urban myth in Colorado, but state lawmakers want to make sure that doesn't happen.
A bill proposed this week by several Republicans would add marijuana dispensaries to liquor stores, gun shops and casinos as places where recipients of public assistance payments and food stamps can't use their electronic benefits cards to access cash.
There haven't been any reports of public EBT cards being used at marijuana dispensaries. But lawmakers say pot shops should be added to the law to make clear it's not legal.

“Unfair food discrimination. Pot is a vegetable.”
Not only that, but you have to have photo ID to buy the pot...

Yep.
I’ve lived here for over 40 years, and have been more disgusted than ever.
Have you noticed that drivers are actually getting worse on the highways?
PJTV’s YouTube channel had a show recently about this issue. One of the panelists (Scott Ott) said that there’s not a marijuana shortage since the law took effect, and wouldn’t be surprised if the government started subsidizing it.

Foods stamps ... for marijuana ... seriously? WTH? My tax dollars paid for those food stamps. This is as offensive to me as my tax dollars being used to kill babies under the guise of birth control. Grrrr ...

Everything that the pro-dopers promise wont happen happens.
A lot more kids will be smoking dope soon too. Any fool would be able to figure that out. Two issues: is is now permitted and legal so there isn't the stigma and it will be a lot more available. Older siblings and maybe even parents will buy it for their under age children. Kids will break into a parent's stash. Ya, ya, ya. “Its illegal to do it.”
I have seen the debilitating effects of pot on children. And yes, it is a gateway drug. It changes the attitude about intoxication with the user looking for newer and cooler ways to get high.
