I wrote earlier this week about President Obama changing the subject from ObamaCare to income inequality. We all know the man is a master at shedding the blame for his failures and pivoting to other subjects to keep the American people distracted from the disaster that is his presidency. As it turns out, he is getting a little help this week from a not so unlikely source. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and the scandal surrounding a traffic jam on the George Washington Bridge are driving a story that the media can't seem to get enough of.
Every time I turn on the radio, the top story is Chris Christie and the traffic jam on the bridge. Reporters are asking what he knew and when he knew it. The Governor has fired the aide that supposedly orchestrated the lane closures that caused the traffic jam. Those lane closures were evidently a political payback for the Mayor of Fort Lee, New Jersey for his failing to endorse Chris Christie in his bid for reelection last year. Federal prosecutors are looking into the possibility of a federal law being broken because of the lane closures. Lawsuits are being filed because some people were late to work and one of them had a panic attack. The media is in an uproar and everyone is wondering if Chris Christie will be able to rebuild his brand and image before the 2016 presidential elections. All of this because so many people in the media and political communities believe Chris Christie will be the front-runner in the GOP primary season.
Meanwhile, the scandals coming from the Obama administration continue, unabated. There is still no real investigation into the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi. Guns from Fast and Furious are still turning up at crime scenes in Mexico. The investigation of the targeting of conservative groups by the IRS is producing no results. The fact is, that targeting continues to take place. It is being reported that the IRS is proposing new rules to regulate the political activities of non-profit groups. While this is being reported as brand new news, I wrote about it in December 2013. Some people are calling these new rules "Tea Party Rules".
I find it amazing that so much attention is being devoted to Chris Christie and the traffic jam scandal, when we have so many failures coming out of the Obama White House. Has the media completely forsaken the story of ObamaCare and how it is destroying the health care plans so many people were paying for and using successfully? Are we expected to turn our backs and completely forget how President Obama has divided America and fostered feelings of racism, hate, and discontent between different segments of the population? Should we ignore how he has enabled Iran's nuclear ambitions and turned his back on Israel?
There was a time in October-November 2012 when Chris Christie immeasurably helped President Obama overcome his shortcomings against Mitt Romney. In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Chris Christie's relationship with President Obama was center stage and Mitt Romney was never able to recover the ground he lost as a result. That is one reason Obama is serving a second term, instead of being on a permanent vacation in Hawaii. I'm not blaming the Governor, but I do believe that is an inescapable fact. He served as a huge distraction and took attention away from where it should have been focused.
That was 2012, but Chris Christie is still a distraction liberals love to use in 2014. There are numerous issues that need more attention than they are getting. I have listed a few of them in this post. Instead, we are discussing how Governor Chris Christie may have been, possibly culpable in lane closures that caused a traffic jam on a bridge in New Jersey, all for political payback to a certain New Jersey mayor. It's been a news vacuum for any other story this week and it still continues today. I, for one, am sick of hearing about Chris Christie and his traffic jam scandal. There are much more important issues that should be on the table, but this is what you get when the inmates control the asylum.
Chris Christie is going to find it’s a lot harder to do his job with obama’s knife in his back.
If Christie is elected President, he should name Bridget Anne Kelly as his SecDef. She knows how to fight a war.
My question is where did these e-mails come from? Who leaked them the day after the Gates book? NSA? Adm? Inquiring minds want to know.
Our country is overrun with political idiots.
I don’t think we will ever recover from the current crop of politicians.
They are like kids making up rules as they go for the games they are playing.

“My question is where did these e-mails come from?”
This whole scandal smells of Arkancide.
There you go Chris. How does it feel having the MSM calling for your hide?
Now if only Obama would be held to the same standard.
The Democrats are doing the GOP a favor by taking Chris Christie out of the GOP Presidential gene pool. He is precisely what we don’t need as a candidate, which is to say an Obama loving “RINO”.
This will never get back to Christie; it is only a distraction. The party that ignored Clinton’s affairs and Obama’s abuse of the IRS has no moral standing at all in these matters. That being said, Christie was never going to run for president; he was a fantasy target of the left.
Bump
crispy is one of “them”... let “them” do with him as they please.
Never let a good crisis go to waste ( odumbo’s news media hacks)
What they are doing to Christie is not my concern. The distraction he is providing them, giving them something else to talk about, is.
Last night I got an email from Democrats.org asking for $3 to keep Chris Christie from becoming president. Was wondering how much it would cost to have no RINOs at all.
Indeed.
Purging corruption and his type of vermin from politics is always prudent and on the side of good. It damages the left by contrast. We stand for right... the left stands for power and greed.
the Christie ordeal “Happened A Long Time Ago”, so what difference does it make at this point?
