(HONOLULU) -- The dramatic images of a small plane crash in December that killed one person off the coast of Hawaii were made public Thursday.
A passenger was recording video as the Dec. 11 crash occurred.
In the images, the Makani Kai Air’s 2002 Cessna Grand Caravan turboprop can be seen about to hit the water. It descends straight down to the ocean and crashes on the surface.
In the video, the passengers can be seen making their way out calmly. They clutched the wing to stay afloat. In two groups, they floated for an hour in choppy waters until they were rescued by the U.S. Coast Guard.
One of the nine people onboard died -- Hawaiian health official Loretta Fuddy.

Another GA aircraft heard their transponder MAYDAY signal and located the crash. That pilot was the one who called the CG and the USN to rescue the passengers.
He had a GO-PRO waterproof camera.

Robin Roberts exaggerates the story.
Probably. But it’s a two-edged sword. His credibility should have suffered, if he had lied on radio as he claimed. The only way he keeps his credibility is if everybody knows he told the truth on the radio but has to claim it’s a lie to cover Obama. And that’s pretty much what happened; he’s still doing his Hollywood news. IOW, everybody knows he told the truth and was threatened/intimidated into claiming he lied.
