The morning commute was easy. The evening commute was sheer Hell. I had to stop on my way home to pick up my daughter Mary in Adams-Morgan and my son David in College PArk. Just before I got to Mary's digs, some moron walked right in front of me as I was pulling away froma stop. Didn't see him until he was directly in front of me - by the Grace of God I was able to stop in time.

Then it took me a solid twenty minutes to get the last mile - off the Beltway - to pick up David. Almost two hours total.

Cabernet is helping. :)

There are certainly a lot more morons in this area lately.
It's a scary thing, isn't it?
I once was witness to one such idiot deciding he was going to cross a 6 lane highway
against the light during evening rush hour. Thankfully we all saw the idiot in time
to slow down and/or avoid him.These people seem to think that, even if they see a vehicle coming,
they can still step out into a crosswalk and the driver has to stop...even if there's no way to stop in time.
