some moron walked right in front of me as I was pulling away froma stop. Didn't see him until he was directly in front of me - by the Grace of God I was able to stop in time.

There are certainly a lot more morons in this area lately.
It's a scary thing, isn't it?
I once was witness to one such idiot deciding he was going to cross a 6 lane highway
against the light during evening rush hour. Thankfully we all saw the idiot in time
to slow down and/or avoid him.These people seem to think that, even if they see a vehicle coming,
they can still step out into a crosswalk and the driver has to stop...even if there's no way to stop in time.

Yes, it warmed up a little...we had 29 this morning;
we have some rain, and it's going near 40 today.

I feel ya...a 5 day work week for 11 more months
before we can get spoiled again.
(I'm not counting vacation time,
since it usually isn't as relaxing as the winter one).

Nothing big planned this weekend except writing
and watching the games.

Between the bicycle riders and the pedestrians, it's becoming progressively more hazardous to drive in D.C. The bikers drive me nuts - they drive between lanes and have no concept of a driver's blind spots. They run red lights with impunity. I've even had to contend with them going the wrong way on one-way streets.
