Have you heard the story of the residents of Riverton, Wyo.? One day they were Wyomingans, the next they were members of the Wind River tribes after the Environmental Protection Agency declared the town part of the Wind River Indian Reservation, undoing a 1905 law passed by Congress and angering state officials.
The surprise decision was made by officials of the EPA, the Department of Interior, and Department of Justice early last month, and has invoked the ire of Gov. Matt Mead, who has vowed not to honor the agencys decision and is preparing to fight in court.
My deep concern is about an administrative agency of the federal government altering a states boundary and going against over 100 years of history and law, Mead said in a statement. This should be a concern to all citizens because, if the EPA can unilaterally take land away from a state, where will it stop?
The EPA declared that Riverton was part of the Wind River Indian Reservation after granting a Treatment as a State application from the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone tribes. The tribes submit such applications to get funding for air quality monitoring under the Clean Air Act. However, this seemingly innocuous application ended up undoing the tribal boundaries set by a 1905 congressional act.
The EPA granted the tribes claim that the Wind River reservation extended over one million acres of land beyond what the 1905 Congressional Act established. By doing this, the agency effectively overruled an act of Congress, state officials charge.

Im sure the epa will reverse itself once they are apprised of that fact.
The only thing from Wyoming that I would give the Chinese is a pair of Jackelopes. They reproduce like rabbits. The Jackelopes, I mean, not the Chinese. Seems the Chinese don’t have enough female Chinese. So the horny Chinese men can have horny Jackelopes for pets. All the Chinese men will sit around making clothes for their Jackelopes. That’ll keep ‘Em busy.
I would have loved Gingrich compared to most of the options there. But that isn’t the point. The point is that every time someone makes excuses for the GOPs mistakes and lack of action it further empowers them to move left and do more things like work all manner of anti christian, anti American leftism into the laws of the land. Which they have done at an increasingly rapid pace since Ronaldus shunted the presedential coil..
This is a VERY black and white issue since it was the grey matter that screwed it up to begin with. Or the lack of it’s use to be entirely accurate.
We are 10ish months out from an election. A couple/ish years out from the big one. Right now is the time to put your principles on display and let the idiots know that you won’t continue participating in your own demise. The alternative is to repeat the last election and be all hyperpatriot until you get skeered and cave in when it matters most.
This assumes of course that you (the general you/we) actually believe in what we go on sites like this and claim to.
you do or you do not. Black or white.
Simple choice for me.
Of course....BUT, the United States of America PROMISED things...and they didn’t deliver. You’d be pissed too...if that was you.
Pissed before what... that’s the question.
Looks like their Great Spirit didn’t have Great Clout.
Gingrich is a perfect illustration of my point.
He actually DID something recent, notable, and of personal consequence on account of God. Not too many of the politicians in the running did. Michelle Bachmann also did... she believed in “pray the gay away” enough to publicize it. (It really ought to be “pray the straight in,” but that’s a minor detail compared with what it says about her engagement with the Lord.) A President Bachmann would be quite peachy right now!
And each one of those was treated as just another dreary, compromising, and/or weak flash in the pan.
God has a lesson: “PAY ATTENTION, I AM YOUR VICTORY, YOU ARE NOT.”
Thanks for posting that info. When I first read this I wondered how long it would be before the Indians demanded that the “settlers” get off their land.
“... Gov. Matt Mead, who has vowed not to honor the agencys decision and is preparing to fight in court.”
No such authority exits by the agency’s to alter any state boundary. Gov Mead needs to just give them a big-fat middle finger and kick every federal agency out of the state and threaten to arrest any Federal Bureaucrat clown who as much as steps foot in Wyoming!
The black or white ought to be in whether that person has a faith of consequence in God.
George Washington himself might not have gotten the red carpet treatment if you’d really known the man from a worldly point of view. He was a hot head that strove valiantly to keep from losing his temper. He wouldn’t have said much, for fear of emotion carrying him away. He constantly studied bible verses on keeping an even temper. On the battlefield that was another story... being mad at the British was the perfect thing to carry him from battle to battle to battle, and the hardships refined his temperament. Blessedly, his founding father compatriots were fervently bible believers if not outright Christians and they knew where George was coming from. He got bubbled to the top, and we know the rest.
There ain’t any 404 with God. He wants not your dollars but yourself. OK, now carry on. I am not saying FR does no good, but it’s only a vessel, only a conduit. Let it carry what counts and that’s up to all of us, not to Jim Rob.
A lifetime supply of liquor
The EPA. The organization who, for years, housed one of their employees in five star hotels overseas because he was a fake secret agent.
“Yes, that Aston Martin is a necessary expense. After all, I AM a secret agent.”
“Oh...sure.....keen.....can I have a ride in it sometime?”
“No. GOLDFINGER blew it up.”
Thomas Jefferson quote.
He's probably at Victoria's Secret right now. Him & Linsey.
Right and then right before elections the Dems will scream that Republicans hate American Indians blah blah....then Obama will bring a big Chief Indian up to WH for some Medal of Honor award photo stunt...
Oh, I'm sure. Absolutely.
Riverton, Wy. Home of the venerable Brunton pocket transit.
Hey, right now anyone who cares about a God of consequence will be more of a help than a hindrance to us.
Wont be long before the EPA hands California over to Mexico.

Possibly not long. I wonder which agency (DOJ or EPA) Obama will designate to handle the ethnic cleansing of the land newly incorporated into the Wind River Reservation. Can’t have those Riverton folks living on the reservation.
