A political retaliation scandal that erupted around Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Wednesday may be about to get worse.
In September, according to a report from the Bergen Record, paramedics trying to reach an unconscious 91-year-old woman in Fort Lee, N.J., got stuck in a traffic jam that had apparently been created by Christie's associates as political punishment for the borough's mayor, a Democrat. Multiple lanes were forced to merge into one, gridlocking traffic for days.
The woman later died at a hospital of cardiac arrest, according to a Sept. 10 letter that EMS coordinator Paul Favia sent to the borough's mayor.

I am NOT a Christie supporter nor a fan. However, I am fairly disgusted at the rush to judge his involvement in this traffic mess.
The woman was 91 and "unconscious?" How do we know that she wasn't already dead, but must be labeled as "unconscious" until examined by an authority?

“Christie has shown himself this past year to be an egotistical, out of control, morally bankrupt fool.”

All of which qualify Christie to be the GOP elite’s choice for the nomination.

The buck stops with Christie. He hired the alleged perps.
Well Crispy only found out about in on TV like the rest of us.
Portrait of Traitors
There will never be a President Crisco. This tub of lard will see the WH only as a tourist (if it’s reopened for tours, that is).
If an elderly woman lost her life in the midst of this, it is a tragedy. If the traffic situation contributed to her death, it’s a crime.
What bothers me is that Christie approved of this little “pay-back” (I don’t believe a word of “it was a rogue aide” crappola) and was derelict in his duty as a Governor.
I have been a luke-warm Christie supporter in the past; he was something a little different, but this fiasco shows he’s just more of the same. He deserves to roast for this big time, as per my second point.
My take on this is the bigger picture. Anyone who has dealt with politicians and their staffs is not surprised one bit by the disgusting arrogant attitude. This is exactly why you don’t want government in your life, with a bunch of petty sob’s running your healthcare and everything else.
I have met some of the biggest a-holes ever in politics, people who are blood curdling insensitive and proud of it.
My comments were related “to date”, i.e. previous to todays presser. Personally, I believe that he’s smart enough to not have joked about the lane closures had he known what his people had done, but it casts doubt on the leaders abilities when stuff like this happens on anyones team.
Time will tell whether firing one person after the stuff hits the fan is sufficient to offset prior acts. We’ve all seen this movie before.
The fact that these people treat us like peons, or lower is what is so disturbing. A class of people has been created throughout Gov't and this will only end with violence.
I can’t stand this load-mouthed tub of goo, but the gridlock caused by Bozo, and every other POTUS, when their entourages travel around NYC could and does cause the same result all the time.
The only difference between Christie’s Mary Jo and Kennedy’s... The media will use this against Christie opposed to ignoring it for Kennedy.
Did Christie show up at the press conference wearing a 'Chappaquiddick neck brace'?
The response time of the EMS to that 91 year old woman was 7 minutes. It was more like 17 hours for Mary Jo.
I am thankful this came out before the primaries. Hopefully this will make it more likely we have an honest conservative rather than a sleazy Statist as the Republican nominee.
