The president of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce vowed Wednesday that 2014 will be the year his organization pulls "out all of the stops" to pass immigration reform, pledging that the Chamber will turn the 2014 midterm elections "into a motivation for change."
"We're determined to make 2014 the year that immigration reform is finally enacted," Donohue said at his 2014 State of American Business address. "The Chamber will pull out all the stops through grassroots lobbying, communications, politics and partnerships with unions, faith organization, law enforcement and other to get it done."
Donohue refuted the idea that immigration reform would not pass in 2014, a midterm election year when very little, if anything, gets done on Capitol Hill.
"We hope to turn that assumption on its ear," he said. "It's based on a simple theory: If you can't make them see the light, then at least make them feel some heat."

Amnesty is corporate welfare that votes democrat.
The left are idiots if they think the chamber wants amnesty out of some kind of altruistic sentiment.
The GOP elites had better enjoy the last days of their party.
Once amnesty is passed, tens of millions of conservatives
will walk away from the GOP. And that will be the end of the Grand Old
Party.
Chamber of Amnestiesia...
Who cares how the citizens make a living.
IOW: The end of 2014 voter support of the Republican Party is currently being drafted by loyal Obamacrat RINOs Boehner, Cantor, and Goodlatte - - - .
Levin calls them the Chamber of Crony Capitalist. I think it’s fitting. Perhaps we need to start contacting local chapters?
To hell with the Chamber of Cronies.
No.
Unemployment is too high. No more immigration, until we get unemployment below 5%.
No more immigration. Bring back US jobs.
First. Bring back US jobs.
Regardless of where you stand on libertarians (I’m not a fan) Rand Paul has the right free market idea for Detroit and all of America in the long run.

You might notice that Obama is trying to steal the idea and turn it into another taxpayer funded giveaway.

Thanks jimbo123.
Chamber of Commerce: “We don’t care that the labor-force participation rate is near a 30-year low- American workers can go to h-ll...”
I hope they can do ‘Immigration Reform’ as good as they did ‘Health Care Reform’~!
Those 50 million new Mexican National “voters” should really help the DemocRATS pull their ObamaCare gonads out of the fire for the 2014 “elections”.
I am definitely listening to Rand Paul. I’m looking for a leader with a brain and unafraid to kick some doors in. He is good on Detroit and he doesn’t strike me as slick.
I think possibly Rand could be a real sob, underneath that stoney veneer of his, and I hope I’m right, if he is going to be the only one certain to run.
He is a smart pol and a thinker, willing to lay his opinion on us whether we like it all, every jot and tittle, or not. I respect that about him.
Where do we start with boycotts on this?
So all the rest of us can subsidize their cheap labor. Parasites.
“When they do good we do good”
” I like them because I wasn't to be rich like them someday”
OOOPSS, Sorry, I thought it was 2012 for a second, Never mind.
LOL
Donahue is a Big Gov Crony, back room dealing POS. Been on the teeet for decades. He is NOT your friend.
He is symptomatic of the problem with the Republican party, not any part of a solution. Wherever you can, let the businesses who support the Chamber know how you feel.
I think the issue is clear, for me, anyway. Zero discussion on "immigration reform" until it can be demonstrated that our border is secure. No border, no immigration reform. More law is not the answer for lawlessness.
Now I don't think anyone's calling for bullets on the border. I'm not, anyway. But how can a government be entitled to the name if it doesn't know who's crossing our frontier?
This is suicide for Republicans, hoping to spend political capital they haven't earned at the polls yet.
Democrats want voters to dilute our sovereignty over our lives, Republicans want voters so they don't have to ask Conservatives for our votes.
Fix the border, "have a border," and a clue, and don't talk to me about immigration reform until after border security has been achieved.
Like the fly who spent the day following after the constipated but flatulent horse, "I can't live on promises."
Donohue and the C of C are gonna get this rammed right back up their a$$. Wait and see.
