The Maricopa County GOP in Arizona have decided to censure Senator John McCain. The resolution accuses John McCain of abandoning the issues of the GOP and to siding with the liberals in the senate and Barack Obama in passing legislation, his constituents oppose, including amnesty for tens of millions of illegal aliens, and betraying his promises to secure the border (Complete the dang fence).
John McCain Censured by Arizonas Republican Leadership
As leaders in the Republican Party, we are obligated to fully support our Party, platform, and its candidates. Only in times of great crisis or betrayal is it necessary to publicly censure our leaders. Today we are faced with both. For too long we have waited, hoping Senator McCain would return to our Partys values on his own. That has not happened. So with sadness and humility we rise and declare:
Whereas Senator McCain has amassed a long and terrible record of drafting, co-sponsoring and voting for legislation best associated with liberal Democrats, such as Amnesty, funding for ObamaCare, the debt ceiling, assaults on the Constitution and 2nd amendment, and has continued to support liberal nominees;
Whereas this record has been disastrous and harmful to Arizona and the United States; and,
Whereas Senator McCain has campaigned as a conservative and made promises during his re-election campaigns, such as the needed and welcomed promise to secure our borders and finish the border fence, only to quickly flip-flop on those promises; and
Whereas McCain has abandoned our core values and has been eerily silent against Liberals, yet publicly reprimands Conservatives in his own Party, therefore
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the Maricopa County Republican leadership censures Senator McCain for his continued disservice to our State and Nation, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that until he consistently champions our Partys Platform and values, we, the Republican leadership in Arizona will no longer support, campaign for or endorse John McCain as our U.S. Senator.
AR legislature now has term limits; all the old bulls of both parties are gone. Anti-abortion laws were passed over the veto of Democratic Governor Mike Beebe. Both chambers are very conservative now, but there are grumblings about term-limited Speaker Davy Carter being “too close” to Beebe. Even a few places in eastern AR now have state Republican representatives.
.........I did not know this! Thanks, it’s encouraging to the National effort!
I censure you Theodore R. for the generalized statements you made about Arizonans. I openly admit that AZ as a whole was severely wrong to re-elect McLoser as often as WE have. Maybe we should have lie detectors implanted in any person who seeks elected office. Said lie detector will not be removed until removal (voluntary/involuntary) from office.
“The poster boy for term limits.”
There are many in Congress that spent their arrogant pampered careers selling out the USA, and most importantly its Constitutional sovereignty to foreign trade treaties and globalist bankers (trade and otherwise) and to UN, Asia and Mexico etc. Leavenworth sounds appropriate.
Giving away our national military and economic security and our market in exchange for more profits for a few banksters and those who would exchange American viability for the cheapest labor market around, was never a good deal for the USA. We were sold a deal that conservatism = NWO corporatism when they are exact opposites.
We’re going to find out with Obama’s secret sovereignty stealing TPP trade deal that it is outright dangerous to Americans, even those who are doing well with the current right skills right now.
I voted for J.D. Hayworth in the primary and wrote him in during the general election. Unfortunately, the low information type “republican” voters thought the DemocRAT wannabe McCain was a better choice than the hell raiser Hayworth. Elections do have consequences. I do believe that a lot of commie ‘RATS also voted for McCain.
Even if Hayworth was a crook, a liar and a cretin, McCain’s a Progressive.
Given that choice, I’d take the crook/liar/cretin any day.
It’s a big deal to throw out an entrenched incumbent because it means the American people must confess that they have been wroing in their selection.
Well, sure there are some good voters in every state, but in most, such as AZ, they are hopelessly outnumbered. Who has AZ voted in that was much good?
Nam Vet
John MCCain a public servant?
It’s a result of his torture in Vietnam; he broke and confessed and played along and ever since he’s done the same in politics. Often people who are abused refuse to conform since it reminds them of how they conformed to abusers in their life.
McCain, I can’t believe that stink bomb still has a job. Way to go, Arizona.
Where were these people 10 years ago. I feel really bad that Sarah Palin got paired up with the worst and dimmest that the Repub party had to offer in 2008.
No matter what, the people of AZ are so uninformed as to think that their McPain is a saint.
