The Obama administration tried to edit a report on new coal regulations to lower analysts’ estimates of serious job losses, an official investigation has found, backing up reports that the Interior Department pressured a private contractor to change information in order to make the data more acceptable.
The Associated Press and Fox News reported in 2011 that a company claimed the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement asked it to change variables in a calculation that showed new environmental regulations would lead to large job losses.
The company and its subcontractors initially estimated that 7,000 jobs could be lost and coal production would be affected negatively by the rules. OSM asked for another calculation with different variables, and Polu Kai Services refused. The company’s contract with the government was terminated shortly after the story was leaked to the press, causing watchdogs to cry foul. ...
Inspector general investigators, however, stopped short of saying the agency was directly pressuring the contractor or was attempting to fudge the numbers. ...
Sen. John Barrasso, Wyoming Republican; Sen. Joe Manchin III, West Virginia Democrat; and Sen. Rand Paul, Kentucky Republican, released a statement at the time saying the Interior Department “cannot discard the economic analysis because it does not like the results.”

If Preibus knew what his job description actually is, he would have been shouting this kind of info from the rooftops during the campaign. As it is now, just like the new ‘expose’ from ex-secretary Gates,it doesn’t matter. We are stuck with what what voted in.

I cannot think of one honest and legally led government “Department” in the US. I have tried and tried to find one that follows the rules, doesn’t fudge the figures, lie thru their teeth, honors whistleblowers who undercover crime, corruption and incompetence, and an agency that is led by people who care more about America than their own careers and political asskissing.
I’ve been around, in or covered (as a journalist) the government/Congress since 1969 and I HAVE NEVER SEEN IT SO MORALLY, POLITICALLY AND CRIMINALLY CORRUPT AS IT IS TODAY.
It makes Ceaucesceu’s Romania seem like Utopia, Mugabe’s Zimbabwe an economic miracle, and Monaco’s army (they don’t have one), seem like the US military of WW2.
The present and past heads of DOJ, DO Interior, EPA, DOD, Nat. Park Service, Health & Human Services, Homeland Security/ATF, ICE, and even the FBI, should be in jail for high crimes and misdemeanors, massive violations of the Constitution, Court orders, federal rules and regulations, abuse of investigative and arrest powers, withholding documents from Congress, the courts, and the public, kickback corruption that would make Al Capone green with envy, and the total and treasonous conduct of our foreign and military affairs.
If I have forgotten any of these groups, PILE ON.
NOAA, BLM, BIA, etc. NSA is questionable right now because it may have done stupid things and wasted a lot of time and money, I’m not sure that it has violated the law, so far.
What have we become other than a corrupt marxist-led second rate economic and politically correct/corrupt cesspole?
I want our old America back, warts and all. At least we didn’t have 47% of the population on poverty doles, unemployment and underemployment around 15-18%, or more, unlawful regulations destroying the coal and energy industries, restrictions on agriculture production, a total perversion of the Commerce Clause, intellectually dishonest and corrupted courts, communists, jihadists and PC assholes teacher our children absolutely useless things instead of how to read, write and do math, etc.
The Tea Party is nothing compared to what I see on the horizon. Race, religion, ethnic origins, economic status, etc. will all be subordinated by the coming uprising of “THE AMERICAN CITIZEN”.
No longer will Comrade Obama and his marxist commissars “transform and wreck” our country. He was truthful when he said he would “fundamentally transform our country” into a marxist shithole, but it STOPS NOW.
If the Republicans can’t do anything right, like get a pair of balls and use them, then the Tea Party and other newly arisen groups will merge and swamp our stupid, anti-American, and greedy Congress like a political tsunami never seen before in our political history.
Obamacare was the straw that broke the red mole’s back. Now let’s bury that camel and its’ marxist, corrupt masters, and take the EPA, and HHS and DHS and DOI and DOJ, with them.
Time to totally clean house and start over again. Otherwise, kiss America goodby, and teach your kids how to address our “leaders” as “Comrade”.

It’s ironic that Slow Joe Manchin who represents a state that will take it in the shorts for coal job losses will drop his trousers and bend over in a heartbeat to take a Reggie for His Arrogance and his Progressive overlords.
