A 26-year-old Florida woman may never walk again after her kind gesture to offer a stranger a ride to the hospital turned into a nightmare attack that has ruined her life. Tallahassee-resident Katie Schlinger told her traumatic story to MailOnline, revealing details about the night she offered to drive a stranger to the hospital before 'he physically and sexually attacked her'. Ms Schlinger says she fought back and escaped with her life, but two spinal surgeries later, she still can't use her right arm or walk on her own. And since she's uninsured, she already owes one hospital $250,000 and is about to be kicked out of a third. She was smoking a cigarette in the car at the nearby Quality Inn around 4am when she was approached by 23-year-old Michael Antwon Fuller who asked her for a cigarette and the two started talking about their relatives in the hospital.
Fuller told her he was worried about his uncle at the hospital and wondered if she wouldn’t mind driving him up there so he could see him.
‘Yeah I’ll give you a ride if you promise not to hurt me,’ she joked, agreeing to drive him since the hospital was only four minutes away and Fuller was clean cut, well-spoken and well dressed. ‘Who could hurt that precious face?’ Ms Schlinger recalls him responding.

Yup. She probably never would have let a white guy in the car.
Beyond that, for my money this story stinks to high heaven. She did at least three things that no girl I have ever known or that I have ever encountered late at night would ever even consider doing.
That's a great lesson, well maybe you should visit a clinic or called your doctor if it was "just a little food poisoning". Do you know what you're paying for in the ER? It isn't the people "yucking it up in the center section ".
what was your chief complaint when the triage nurse asked you what you were in the ER for? Vomiting, diarrhea, belly pain, fever? If you don't like the bill write a letter to the hospital and billing department and see if you can negotiate or decrease the bill. Go to the billing department and set up payments or dispute what you feel is wrong. Remember that you aren't billed by what they find but on what they looked for and the things that were used to look for the answer.
I started reading the story and without hesitation knew it had to be one of Holder’s people and a son of odumbo who did the deed. I feel very bad for the young lady but she did a really STUPID thing by giving that creep the opportunity to do her harm. Will they ever learn?
As a large male, I don’t have the same target issues a woman of any race or age does.
A few years back I gave a ride to two black men trudging uphill in a snow storm. The older of the two was amazed that I stopped as they were deperate.

I hate that it happened to her, but the warning label was in plain sight. Maybe she didn’t know better.
I lived in S. FL in the '80's. It was common for blacks to lay in the road and rob people that stopped to help. "Helping" people in FL is a mistake, sad to say.
She has no common sense at all. 1) smokes 2) no health insurance 3) alone in a parking lot a 4:00 AM 4) gives a ride to a male, and a black one at that.
Parents, teach your children well. It’s a rough world out there.

She’s young, she didn’t know better. I hope most
of us have enough mercy in our hearts to see
past her mistakes and maybe offer a few prayers for her.
In any case, she does have a fund set up to help her
cover her bills. Poor thing is getting second rate
treatment - that’s my take, anyway. Do some of us have
enough mercy to send her a few bucks?

Amen. Her actions make me wince, but I still have sympathy for her. She probably felt it would be racist to deny the guy a ride, which is the real crime, because she’s been TAUGHT, drip by drip, by the media and school system, to see everyone as ‘equal’, regardless of crime statistics.
