On Monday's CBS This Morning, Charlie Rose predictably placed the blame for the unusually cold weather in North America on climate change. Rose wondered, "Is it definitely connected to global warming?"
I read that last year’s super cold winter in northern Europe was caused by a change in air currents caused by melting of more of the Arctic Ocean. Very confusing.
I had a roommate in college who was a philosophy major. I called it majoring in arguing.
I am not sure if it would be related to global warming, but I am sure of one thing, it would be a huge improvement.
Charlie Rose knows better than to link this to Global Warming. He hopes to renew his liberal creditials for another programming year.
You read right. The hare-brained “theory” is that arctic warming throws off ‘hurricanes” of sub-zero temps.

Even the most committed GW believers in the scientific community don’t use words like “definitely”.
They fill their dissertations with words like “probably”, “may”, “could” and “as much as”.
So if we stop “global warming” then it will get too hot in the winter and kids will NEVER see snow again.
Warming causes small rises in CO2, about 10 ppm per degree of warming. The bulk of the CO2 rise can’t be explained by that (over 120ppm and rising). So fossil fuels is the next explanation and it matches all the evidence very nicely especially the quantities produced and net drop in ocean pH. We can surmise that the ocean used to release CO2 as it warmed from Little Ice Age temperatures, but now it absorbs, net.
