Study: Nearly half of all black males are arrested by age 23

A new study released Monday found that nearly half of all black males and almost 40 percent of white males are arrested by the time they are 23-years old.

The analysis of national data from 1997 to 2008 of teenagers and young adults’ arrest histories — excluding traffic violations — were published Monday in the journal of Crime & Delinquency.

While there was variation in the rate of arrest between black and white men, there was little racial variation in the arrest rates among women of different races.

This leaves us with two choices. A) America is a racist nation that picks on and arrests black men for little or no reason. or B) The black culture of race hate and hip hop Djangoism has fostered a poison of “sticking it to the man”. I think its the last—The war on poverty and the pandering to African Americans has caused this division and race hate -—this has to change or America is finished. Maybe blacks are killing each other at such a high rate—they may eliminate the whole black race from America all by themselves.

42,000,000 / 2 = 21,000,000 = black male pop. %

21,000,000 / 4 = 5,250,000 = black males < 23yo

5,250,000 * .50 = 2,625,000 black males < 23yo arrested

Now, compared to the results of my rough math in post #39 above:

21,875,000 * .40 = 8,750,000 white males < 23yo arrested

.. these people are claiming numbers that, when accounting for the target demographics' relative %s of the population,
purport to show white males <23yo being arrested at almost a 4:1 rate over black males of the same age range.

While granting that I've been wrong once or twice in the past few years {:-), this 'study' smells even more like BS this morning than it did last night.

If the police were more efficient and effective, probably a much higher percentage would have been arrested.

No matter what the numbers (even these that are highly suspect and provide no LOGICAL conclusion for lack of data), they will continue to rise because every aspect of our behaviors are increasingly criminalized.

Unless and until the focus is taken off revenue, overreach of power and reparations (in the broad sense of PC homogenizing/equalizing/fairness of all aspects of society), many formerly law abiding citizens will eventually have an arrest record. Race notwithstanding.
