In an unprecedented show of opposition to abortion, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus is delaying the start of the partys annual winter meeting so he and other committee members can join the March for Life on the Mall, The Washington Times has learned.
Mr. Priebus, a plain-spoken Greek Orthodox lawyer from Wisconsin, will join members of his partys national committee and thousands of other abortion opponents in the annual right-to-life march scheduled for Jan. 22, the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision that declared abortion a constitutional right.
I saw that there was a real interest among a significant portion of our members to attend and support the Rally for Life, Mr. Priebus said in an email to The Times. This is a core principle of our party. It was natural for me to support our members and our principles.
Mr. Priebus, in his second term as elected chairman of the Republican National Committee, chose to delay the start of the four-day winter meeting of the GOP governing body, also scheduled in Washington, to allow himself and RNC members to attend the march. The delay is unprecedented for a major U.S. political party, several state Republican Party chairmen and other RNC members said in telephone interviews....

yeah... the stupid party needs to do this now, to distract from the disaster which is Obamacare, so as to ensure their self-defeat
*sigh*
He wont say a word about gay marriage or illegals.
He has decided that abortion is the only so-con issue the RNC can take a stand on.
This is a good thing. I didn’t realize that Priebus was Greek Orthodox, btw, but aside from that, one thing that most people don’t realize is that the whole Obamacare thing is an attempt to impose government-determined procedures on the whole population: that is, everybody must either use or pay for contraception, abortifacients, sex change operations (recently required by one of the state “exchanges”), etc.
I think it’s an excellent thing to protest abortion and make it clear that the Obamacare agenda actually goes beyond just trying to devastate the middle class (the “kulaks” so hated by Communists) and kill off the old folks...
The news here is that the Republican Party claims it has a core principle to support.
Hmm... i had not stopped to think that this could be an Obamacare issue - I hope it is
The Justice Department going after those poor nuns was just hideous- and should be on 24/7 news

You’ve “nailed” the Stupid Party. They just can’t help themselves from doing whatever will help defeat their party.
At this point I think most Republican "consultants" are Democrat moles.
This must be to obscure some other issue, gay marriage, immigration, or such. I think the abortion arguments for a political campaign are stupid to begin with.
I think its’ a good idea. One of the biggest knocks (of the many) against Obamacare is that it forces religious individuals to violate their religious beliefs on abortion when it comes to funding health care. And it does it in a capricious manner.
So .. you’re against “life” ..??
Indeed. irony Obamacare is virtually forcing women to have abortions since it thinks doctors should be forced to perform them.
This should be a march stating the truth: pro choice was pro death all along.
Pro choice is infanticide.
Agree, stupid.
The GOP is great on making statements. And then the Dems roll right over them.
I agree with you... priebus is scum... apologies to scum. He is right to defend the most innocent amongst us and stand against the murder of the most innocent... but there is no doubt that he is doing it for political reasons. He is a corrupt slimeball for the left.
I can already hear the “War On Women” comments. I just didn’t expect people here to agree with them.
Even if they do it for the wrong motives, I’m glad to see the RNC stand squarely against abortion on demand.
I think this is a major victory for the Tea Party .. because the repub-elites have been trying to avoid this issue and get rid of the base because of the abortion issue.
Choice? Oh yeah, but no choice with Obamacare. That was the catch. It never is about choice with these people. Heck, they hate God because God chose to kill the like of them during the big flood. Deep down, just like the original sin, all this history is repressed and exist in some super unconscious of men.
