Tyler Drum, a 21-year-old homosexual aide to Democrat state Senator Irene Aguilar, was fired on the spot from his position in the Colorado Senate because he allegedly visited the office of a fellow college aide who happens to work for a Republican.
Drum, a 2013 graduate of Colorado State University, told Campus Reformthat Aguilar did not explain why he had been fired.
She just said leadership was uncomfortable with me befriending Republicans, Drum said.
Drum took the aide position after completing Colorado State University's capitol internship program, a class designed to teach students about the legislative process.
Partisanship runs much deeper than I thought, Drum said. There is no real interest in compromise.
Now unemployed, Tyler joins the over 12% of 20-24 year olds unable to find employment.

Point well taken.
Perhaps he has learned something about the party that professes to support him.
True.
Maybe Senator Cruz can find him an interns position in his office so his education can continue to the place it should have been at school, in more ways than one.
Huge opportunity for s string of teachable moments. More to the point of Phil Robertson’s full context of his comments. Love the sinner, hate the sin.
Drum was not an intern. The intern program was a part of his undergraduate program. When he graduated, he was hired as an aide. That's why students sign up for intern programs. The article makes it quite clear.
He will still vote Democrat, I bet.
Giving and taking.
Imagine the faux outrage if a Republican had fired a gay aide for consorting with Democrats.
1) Parents willing to support him.
2) He wants to change the world.
3) Government, a la Alexandria Va., is where the money is these days.
Democrats, the party of tolerance, diversity and compassion.
Actually, at least where Frito Lay is concerned, that’s absolutely true. You’d better not have any snack or drink at your desk that’s not one of their products, or you’ll be “exploring new opportunities” in short order.
Luckily for me, I love Fritos corn chips. Drinks are from parent PepsiCo. I think the only exception to that might be, or was, “Dublin” Dr. Pepper due to the local and longstanding existence of that particular soda.
Good for the goose...
Just like bosses strolling their parking lots looking for Obammy bumper stickers because they have to trim the rolls because of Obammycare.
If you want to hang with the other guys, go right ahead, but I aint gonna pay you do it.
You are FIRED !
He might have said he was recruiting.
Sounds like they have a few skeletons they want to keep hidden.
The question I have is, will he continue to vote Democrat? And if so, how many times (in each election)?
Seems to me Tyler Drum is learning first-hand about the "tolerance" of the left! ROFL! Keep voting and working for Democrats, dumbass!
