"To leave nothing vague or ambiguous regarding our nations Diplomatic Corps actions in regards to homosexual rights around the globe, the former Massachusetts Senator and presidential candidate [the current U.S. Secretary of State] stated:
Across the globe, in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas our diplomats are assisting local LGBT organizations and supporting local human rights advocates working to promote equality, create dialogue, and ensure protections for LGBT individuals."

since LGBT support might seem to contrast with his history as a womanizer in years gone by?A common misunderstanding.
"Gay rights" stand for f*** who you want, when, where, and how you want, regardless of law, custom, or prior commitment.
If "gay rights" were only popular with gays, they never would have gotten anywhere.
But since f*** who you want, etc., is enormously popular with heterosexuals, "gay rights" have swept the field.

Perhaps JF’nK tailors the LGBT message with a wink toward “fondness for young boys” to the Islamic elite.

I remember that there were ads placed for US State Department body guards in Libyan newspapers, stating openly that preference would be given to gay males. The local guards hired to protect the diplomatic outpost may well have been those claiming to be of such orientation, honestly or not, in fact. It should not be overlooked how such hiring practices could not have been seen as anything but wonton provocation to a large percentage of the local Islamic population.
I'm convinced that when the time came, Stevens (and later his body) was more severely treated than he would've been, had the State Department not approved such ads.

I should've also added that gay males from Libyan society that may well have been guarding the diplomatic outpost were probably especially susceptible to blackmail or coercion, ultimately making the attack on the compound a piece of cake for the Al An-Shariah, the AQ "real baddies."
I assert the attackers were able to co-opt and/or dispatch the local rent-a-guards, probably with detailed electronic maps and info received from such rent-a-guards, on the planners' PDAs.

The is why Obama met with pedophiles in Russia about opposing Russian laws banning child pornography and homosexual recruitment of minors.
