The often stale British political system is being rocked by its very own Tea Party.
The UK Independence Party (UKIP), formed in 1993 opposing Britains entry into the European Union, failed to make an electoral dent for a long time. However UKIP has built up steam in recent years and is spearheading a seismic shift in the British political spectrum.
In this years local elections the British version of midterms -- UKIP took a stunning 23 percent of the vote, up from the 3.1 percent they won in the 2010 national election. Their leader, Nigel Farage, is buoyed by their recent success.
We want to take back our country, we want to take back our government, and we want to take back our birthright, Farage told FoxNews.com in forthright language rarely seen in British politics.

Farage - we need one. That man is a great communicator.
Go Nigel!
Sound familiar?
IIRC, Australia voted in their own brew of TEA last year.
Great Britain is making plans for Nigel while we are stuck with the Mayor of Simpleton
Very clever.
Still a good video of Nigel and current events (Spain)...

This is our culture; fight for it.
This is our flag; pick it up.
This is our country; take it back.

Daniel Hannon, UKIPS other very recognizable face, is the most eloquent politician alive today.
I love that guy. Can we make a trade for Barry?
I can understand and embrace and take joy in the fact that the UK has citizens who are against socialism and forcible wealth distribution and what not, but Brits against gay marriage? Seems like wishful thinking. Western Europe has embraced rejecting all types of Judeo Christian tradition thousands of times faster and more thoroughly than anywhere in the US, sans Hawaii, San Francisco and Manhatten.
We might have to throw in the big plane, but I’m OK with that. Let’s trade.
And they have a parliamentary system that gives small parties the chance to gain power gradually. We don't have that.
I hope people here don't read this as a justification for a third party. They don't work here. The best they can do is spoil. Ross Perot.
UKIP sadly wont win the next GE, however they can become a huge force in UK politics, and if the Tories had any sense, they would get into bed with them, if the Tories fail again to win outright in 2015, they’d have a coalition with UKIP. That would be what the UK would need. UKIP’s true rightism would bolster the centre-right Toryism.
I strongly recommend Nigel Farage’s speeches on YouTube. He is a magnificent speaker, and delights in baiting the leftists and Eurocrats, calling them out for their corruption, anti-democratic tendencies, and incompetence.
What the heck has become of them?
And what the heck has become of Scotland?
That said, I am an American...and what the heck has become of us?
Our world has taken a bizarre turn...for the worst.
XTC bump!
