The Islamization of Britain in 2013

In May, new census data published by the British government showed that Islam is set to become the dominant religion in Britain within the next generation.

On being informed that the girl did not want to get married, Mohammed Shahid Akhtar, Imam of Birmingham's Central Jamia Masjid Ghamkol Sharif Mosque, said, "She's 14. By Sharia, grace of Allah, she's legal to get married."

The Muslim population of Britain topped 3.3 million by the end of 2013 to become around 5.2% of the overall population of 63 million, according to figures extrapolated from a recent study on the growth of the Muslim population in Europe.

At the same time, opinion surveys consistently show that voters in Britain view Islam and the question of Muslim immigration as a top-ranked public concern. The British public, it seems, is increasingly worried about the establishment of a parallel Muslim society there.

But government efforts to push back against the Islamization of Britain have been halting and half-hearted.

What follows is a chronological review of some of the main stories involving the rise of Islam in Britain during 2013.

In January, Muslim gangs were filmed loitering on streets in London and demanding that passersby conform to Islamic Sharia law. In a series of videos, the self-proclaimed vigilantes—who call themselves Muslim London Patrol—are seen abusing non-Muslim pedestrians and repeatedly shouting "this is a Muslim area."

One video records the men shouting: "Allah is the greatest! Islam is here, whether you like it or not. We are here! We are here! What we need is Islam! What we need is Sharia!"

All in the name of ‘diversity’, yet in Islamic nations there is forced homogenization of thought and accepted behavior.

I’ve been on Facebook with a Brit for about two years and at first he thought the “nationalists” were a bunch of loons. In the last six months he has totally flipped and has posted nothing but pro England nationalist, anti-immigration messages. Hopefully he isn’t the only one.

Cultural suicide. We are seeing a repeat of the Biblical theme that when people worship false gods, they lose their freedom. The peculiar thing to me is the way in which this is being facilitated by the left. Are they so foolish and arrogant that they believe they can somehow control the Muslim beast once they have fed it for thirty years or so? Don’t they see where this is going? Are they dumb, or just suicidal, wrecking the West for the sheer sadistic and masochistic joy of it?

It's because there is no party they can vote for that will support their views; as the article states, it's virtually illegal in Britain to speak of Islam as a threat. We are approaching the same situation in the US on illegal immigration - the public opposes it, but both major parties seem determined to allow it to continue with impunity.

Notice how the radical imam echoes the left by speaking of ordinary 9-to-5 work as slavery? This lulls the left into thinking the Muslims are fellow-travelers and can be co-opted into their worldview. What a foolish notion.

I really can’t get into the head of a lefty. Do they really think the Muslims will side with them because the “enemy of my enemy...”?

Why is Putin, the ultimate lefty different. Is it because his authoritarian rule is threatened.

I really can’t understand why the left coddles Muslims, even when they are threatened by them in the street. I have a friend who visits here family in the south of France and she says every time she goes back, there is more and more of the town relinquished to the Muslims. I guess that is their solution.

I follow the Tour de France bicycle race, and I was surprised last summer when one of the cycling magazines explicitly mentioned Islam as one thing that worries the French, and that the TDF helps take their minds off of that and other social problems. I think sometime in the next 10-40 years several European countries will either see mass emigration of their native population, and/or outright civil war with Muslims.

Some time ago, someone posted a chart indicating what happens when various thresholds of Islamic population within a country are reached. It was alarming because Muslim influence was disproportionate to their percentage of the population (much like gays). I don’t remember the exact figures, but it was like a country can be virtually Islamized with only something like a 20% Muslim presence.
