Because MSNBC long ago stopped being a news channel in favor of becoming visual left-wing talk radio, the "Lean Forward" network continues to make a fool of itself in ways both big (mocking a black infant) and small. On a slow news Friday, MSNBC rising star Thomas Roberts and a guest spit-balled on the air over how to "combat" the Duck Dynasty clan from doing something legal -- like releasing their own line of firearms:

So this family earned $200,000 per episode that season and they represent and they speak to a large swath of the country. Primarily the stereotype almost that you just pointed out. But how do you try to combat that? Because, obviously they're within their rights to go ahead and do this. This is all legal.

You're right Flaming - you can feel in Thomas Roberts' comments he hates that it's legal for Phil of Duck Dynasty to hold different views than he holds. Roberts is one of the creepier totalitarians on MSNBC ...

A&E knows what they are doing. Just when DD should start flagging in the ratings Phil grabs the national spotlight? And then AE doubles down on episodes? Watch what AE does not what they say.

As for DD their mission is to make money. That is not a family of rednecks. Pay attention to pre-DD pictures, notice the college degrees, even the church is not redneck. Heck, duck hunting is not generally considered a redneck activity.

My guess is that they are social conservatives and populist. In a former political age they would have been blue dog democrats.
