Benghazi - What Difference Does It Make?

It would appear that Benghazi is back in the news. For some of us, it has remained in the forefront of our minds, but for many Americans, it is past history. I am sure no small amount of wonder is expressed that we are still concerned about what happened in Benghazi, some fifteenth months later. My personal concern is that four Americans were killed and no one has truly been held accountable for their deaths. Americans were fed a false narrative by the Obama administration and over the weekend, the New York Times published a 7,000 word report that attempted to portray the lies told us by Obama and company as the gospel truth. Never mind that so many people who were actually on the ground at Benghazi have said the lies were everything but the truth.

Ask yourselves this simple question. Why would the New York Times expend so much time and effort to back the Obama administration's narrative about Benghazi? Could it be they are simply trying to build a back story that will clear Hillary Clinton's name before she runs for President in 2016? That's a distinct possibility that deserves to be pondered.

Even more troubling is a story that I found on Politico. It says there are six reasons why the story of Benghazi will stay alive. Read 'em and weep.

1. Political opportunism
2. Ideology
3. People don't agree on what al Qaeda is
4. The journalism's been all over the map
5. A matter of interpretation
6. You can't prove a negative

The story goes on to give detailed explanations of each reason. I can understand some of them, to a point, but I bristle at their explanations for the first two reasons. They would attempt to portray Republicans as going after this story only to damage President Obama and Hillary Clinton and for ideological reasons. While I am sure that may be an underlying factor for some Republicans higher up in the party, it does not play into my disgust and anger at what happened in Benghazi.

There is every reason to believe Christopher Stevens, Glen Doherty, Sean Smith, and Tyrone Woods were victims of an administration caught with their pants down around their ankles. They were left to die by an administration woefully unprepared for the attack. This is especially true, given that it came smack in the middle of Obama's reelection campaign against Mitt Romney. I can understand something like this catching them off guard, but the lies that were told afterwards is more than I can stomach.

In this day and age in America, someone is always looking to hold someone else responsible for their actions. Gun manufacturers are under attack because they built the gun that was used to kill someone. Tobacco companies were sued by people who got cancer from smoking their products. Police officers have to be on their guard because they could possible be sued for doing their jobs poorly, or possibly too well, given the circumstances. But the lies about Benghazi continue.

The administration responsible for the cover up refuses to face that responsibility. It's easier to continue the lies and hope the American people will forget all about what happened that night in Benghazi. Let this serve as a notice to them. Some in the media may continue to perpetrate the lies told by the Obama administration. They may continue to cover for Hillary Clinton as she gets ready to make her last bid for the White House. That may work on some Americans, but not on those of us who really care about the lives that were lost. This has nothing to do with damaging the Obama administration or Hillary Clinton and everything to do with wanting to know what happened and honoring the four men who were killed.

It doesn't really matter if you are a Republican or Democrat, conservative or liberal. If you are an American, you should care about what happened. It's as simple as that.

THE LINGERING LIE The September 11, 2012 attacks on the U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi precipitated the murders of the American Ambassador three other American citizens. Yet, Susan Rice, who got her NSA job b/c she toadied for Obama---parroting the WH "video" script---is still trying to pump her resume---to convince us nothing really happened.

PUMP MY LOUSY RESUME, PLEASE Susan Rice was on TV a-g-a-i-n---on 60 Minutes. She can't get enough TV time to save her sorry a**---to continue the Benghazi lie and the cover-up. Forget the video---the cover story now includes "national security" as the rationale.

Rice figures that should be enough to pump up her sorry resume.

Better to cover up what happened than to let the entire world know about Hillary's involvement....part of her shady MO to get into the WH in 2016.

The Congressional investigators are in slow motion mode and need to complete their job now. FR needs to pounce on Congress and the ruling class with both feet and make them feel the heat.

The definition of treason is aiding and abetting THE ENEMY of The United States Of America. The Obama administration must have been caught aiding and abetting Al Qaeda. Please answer this simple question,What was our ambassador doing in Benghazi in the first place,a known Alqueda stronghold in a house in a residential neighborhood with security that did not meet the standards for a mission,let alone a consulate ?
The embassy in Libya is in Tripoli not Benghazi,Answer the first question and the whole sordid affair will unravel.
