I was a life guard at Seaside Heights New Jersey. That's definitely a Crab! All kidding aside the tail is vertical so it is not a dolphin! The fin and tail points to a shark.

Plus dolphins avoided breaking waves. When they passed our beach they were about 500 feet off shore and were gracing for their food. They definitely avoided the Boardwalk submarines although my favorite was tuna with onions and a root beer!

I don’t know how to post photos here, but the pictures at this link pretty much match exactly what is shown in that beach photo. It’s a great white.

Fishermen have recently been prohibited from killing seals, so they are appearing all along Cape Cod shores. And along with the seals come the pursuing sharks.

The first attack on a human, since the 1930s, occurred this summer. A fatal attack is only a matter of time.

Looks like a dolphin to me. The fin/fluke appears to be flat.

Best way I know to tell a shark from a dolphin, is to toss some liberals into the water. If they make it to shore, try again.

I defintely vote shark. The body shape and length just aren’t correct for a dolphin.
