Does A&E have a spelunking reality show because they’re gonna need one to keep track of ALL THE CAVES.
A week after the patriarch of A&E’s ratings juggernaut “Duck Dynasty” family was indefinitely suspended by the network for comments he made about homosexuality in a magazine interview, Robertson is back. Now, the national firestorm that erupted over A&E’s hasty disciplining of the reality star will no doubt erupt again, this time for its hasty reinstatement of him. Because how could the screaming elements of the Left possibly allow a person with views different from their own to be on TV and respond by simply not watching or writing a scathing HuffPost comment about how icky they think he is. No, that would never do.
The network’s full statement, via Mediaite.
As a global media content company, A+E Networks core values are centered around creativity, inclusion and mutual respect. We believe it is a privilege for our brands to be invited into peoples home and we operate with a strong sense of integrity and deep commitment to these principals.
That is why we reacted so quickly and strongly to a recent interview with Phil Robertson. While Phils comments made in the interview reflect his personal views based on his own beliefs, and his own personal journey, he and his family have publicly stated they regret the coarse language he used and the mis-interpretation of his core beliefs based only on the article. He also made it clear he would never incite or encourage hate. We at A+E Networks expressed our disappointment with his statements in the article, and reiterate that they are not views we hold.
But Duck Dynasty is not a show about one mans views. It resonates with a large audience because it is a show about family a family that America has come to love. As you might have seen in many episodes, they come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance and forgiveness. These are three values that we at A+E Networks also feel strongly about.
So after discussions with the Robertson family, as well as consulting with numerous advocacy groups, A&E has decided to resume filming Duck Dynasty later this spring with the entire Robertson family.
We will also use this moment to launch a national public service campaign (PSA) promoting unity, tolerance and acceptance among all people, a message that supports our core values as a company, and the values found in Duck Dynasty. These PSAs will air across our entire portfolio.
So, we’ve got some public lauding of the Robertson family, even noting they “come together to reflect and pray for unity, tolerance, and forgiveness,” which is bound to rankle the very people who rejoiced in Phil’s suspension because it uses the approved language of the left to applaud a Christian family. One assumes the Robertson family, already millionaires outside of TV, at least threatened to walk during this debacle. “Duck Dynasty’s” millions upon millions of viewers certainly did. Hence, a Christmas week news dump reinstatement of Phil.
A&E will be producing fluffly PSAs to assure everyone they believe in tolerance or something. Which, if they did, they could have illustrated it by saying, “Hey, yes, we disagree with Phil’s beliefs but don’t think it rises to a fireable offense that he’s talking about them in public. The Robertsons are actually a pretty cool and caring family, as the millions who watch every week know.” But tolerance in the public parlance doesn’t actually mean the tolerance of people with differing views and lifestyles. “Tolerance” is a system of enforced celebration, and nothing short of celebration will be tolerated. I wonder if these PSAs come with a complementary sizeable donation to GLAAD? A “multimillion dollar protection racket’s” gotta rake it in somehow.
GLAAD is in the indulgence selling biz, and I'm guessing it cashed in quite handsomely on its Duck Dynasty tantrum. #MissionAccomplished
Ah, again the consensus among “staunch Christians” seems to be lets defend our nice society and do it by whatever shunning we can (assuming it even works... the SBC has some experience with what boycotts do and it tends to be rather feeble... I don’t even think they get into that now, though that was an experiment worth trying).
In the meantime people walk around on Satan’s chain and nobody dares go near and try to get permission to unhook that chain. It is to be indignant from heaven.
For certain.
I’m not saying that there is theoretically anyone who cannot be saved. Even Ted Bundy was saved (according to James Dobson and his last minute interview).
And there are examples of homosexuals who have been saved, truly believing in Jesus as their personal savior, and turning from their old ways.
And I’m not saying to not give the gospel message to those people.
However, remember, at the same time, that these are people to whom God has made it perfectly clear — and they have gone OUT OF THEIR WAY to SUPPRESS this wonderful news of God, His Son and salvation available to all — and they’ve done so in ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS and ALL UNGODLINESS.
To have them accept Jesus as their personal savior - when God had already made it clear to them - and they “went on a rampage” against God and his truth — it would be like turning a ten-time child molester and rapist into the BEST DAY-CARE WORKER in the country.
But, as I said, it’s not impossible, but it’s quite unlikely. It’s about as UNLIKELY as what you’ll hear from people when you tell the that Ted Bundy is saved and is in Heaven with Jesus right now ... :-) ...
Would it make it any better if my handle was “Down to Earth” ... LOL ...
Just wanted to say....I’ve really enjoyed your most recent posts. Just pure truth.

DUCK A&E. I hope Duck Dynasty finds a more worthy sponsor than a channel affiliated with Marxist Mouse and their Gay Week at Children’s Theme Parks.
Thanks ... and that particular portion of chapter one of Romans has always impressed me. Overall, Romans is one of the best books of the Bible for a doctrinal overview of the Bible, itself, and the salvation message, from a thinking person’s standpoint.
A&E played everyone for fools. They got the gays thinking A&E stood with them. They got a ton of free publicity for the show. And they didn’t lose their “star” for even a single episode.
Somebody at A&E deserves a raise for this gambit. Beautifully played.
>> But, lets not forget or forgive the source of intolerance the Disney owners of A&E.
I’m disappointed the parent companies aren’t normally feeling the heat.
As far as I’m concerned, Comcast and GE initially supported Bashir’s hostile remarks against Palin given the length of time it took to terminate his employment.
That would be true if they had planned such a thing ... congratulations would be due for all the free attention the program was given.
However, I don’t think they are smart enough to figure that out ahead of time. I think they were bungling their way through.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
We killed our TV 5 yrs ago (all cable and no antenna). Best thing we ever did. Not only do we save about 80-100 dollars a month, we don’t have that garbage in the house. The TV now gets used only to watch old movies on DVD and even then only 1 or 2 a month.
Phil is very Tolerant. Problem is, tolerant isn’t good enough for the Victim crowd.
On another Board I posted a response to the idiot Piers Morgan’s attack against Phil’s perceived Hateful Comments.
I said, if Phil and Piers were in earshot of a Gay Male being attacked by some of Obama’s Sons playing the Knockout Game, who would physically defend the Victim from attack, Phil or Piers? We all know the answer.
I agree. AE still loves faggots. It would be better if they head to another network.
Let’s review the economics of this mess.
A & E produces a show that thrills roughly twelve million Americans to watch weekly. Another forty million consider the show acceptable but aren’t dedicated to it. If the chief viewers were gay or black....then they’d can the whole production and walk away. They aren’t.
So, would A & E produce some lesbian hairdress reality show from Coos Bay, some black dope dealing reality series from Memphis, or a group of five gay Mennonite guys from Tulsa working on a farm together? Maybe, but so far, they haven’t found that these special groups really stand by some reality series on their ‘culture’ or ‘class’. So bluntly, they don’t make money for anyone...then pass.
If you ask me....Phil and A & E created a $300 million dollar advertising campaign that didn’t cost them a single dime....and the show only got bigger over the past four weeks. By October of 2014, Phil’s show will be dominating all of TV, and blasting away at NBC, CBS, and ABC. They won’t be able to compete against Duck Dynasty. You could put Glee up against it at the same time schedule....and Duck would smash Glee.
There is one sin that can NEVER BE FORGIVEN... even CHRIST stated that HE can do nothing for the person that commits that sin.
Matthew 12:31 32
31”Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. 32”And whoever shall speak a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever shall speak against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age, or in the age to come.”
UPDATE: GLAAD responds: Phil Robertson should look African American and gay people in the eyes and hear about the hurtful impact of praising Jim Crow laws and comparing gay people to terrorists. If dialogue with Phil is not part of next steps then A+E has chosen profits over African American and gay people especially its employees and viewers.

Phil never compared homosexuals to terrorists (though they certainly are) nor did he “praise Jim Crow laws”. These people are such liars. I wish Phil would sue them out of existence!
It generated a whole lot of free publicity.
