The US Department of Justice on Thursday stepped into the cultural fray about the so-called “knockout game” when it brought federal hate crime charges against a white Texas man for assaulting an unsuspecting black man.
The decision shines a brighter spotlight on the knockout game, in which an assailant tries to knock out a bystander with a single punch. A spate of incidents have gathered national attention in recent months, though it is unclear whether the game has become more popular or whether the Internet has simply allowed for isolated incidents to be broadcast more widely.
The majority of the reported incidents, however, have involved black men targeting white victims – and none triggered federal involvement. The fact that the Justice Department has elected to step in now, when a black man was the victim, has led to criticism among conservative pundits that the Obama administration is applying the hate-crime statute unevenly.
“The reason why you have black perpetrators and white victims being prosecuted asymmetrically hinges on what evidence there is about why they’re doing what they’re doing,” says Donald Green, a political scientist at Columbia University in New York.
Conrad Barrett was arrested Thursday and charged under federal hate crimes law, which defines a hate crime as “motivated by enmity or animus against a protected class.” (The Federal Bureau of Investigation also lists anti-white crimes as hate crimes.)
“If suspects call the victim racial names, and one of the other witnesses testifies to that effect, it would be prosecutable as a hate crime,” says Professor Green, speaking generally about knockout cases...

The guy SHOULD be charged with assault. That’s what it was.
A hate crime? Prove what he was thinking.

Now, Eric never claimed he was for actual color-blind justice. He’s always believed in using the government as an instrument of racial revenge.
So, he’s no “hypocrite”.
On the other hand, this idiot was easier to catch than most of the black perps.
The Injustice Department is a joke. Local law enforcement did nothing to curb this trend or alert the public. THAT is where the Justice Department investigation needs to be, the lack of local prosecution.
Making a federal case out of this one “man bites dog” case is overkill and unwarrented. Let him be prosecuted locally. Bring in the big guns if they refuse to do their job.
When I was robbed at gunpoint and ordered to get down on the ground, I was repeatedly called nigger. I have white skin. I told the police this when I ran up to where they were doing a DWI taskforce. There was no hate crime prosecution. No criminal prosecution for the aggrivated robbery. They got the hell out of there and didn't run their ticket game for 6 months.
My attackers were two hispanic yutes.
Questions:
Is the white perp a liberal?
Who did he vote for?
Has he cashed a government check for contract labor recently?
Was it payback after getting fed up with jazillion number of times black perps have done it to white prople?
Did it really happen?

Or possibly the fact that black perps commit crimes so many times over that of white people that its hard to keep up?
Naturally, the Great Lib Media overlooked that statement as they have overlooked all cases of hypocrisy concerning racial matters. We are either in or getting closer and closer to the ultimate dream of the left... liberal fascism where no words and actions but liberal words and actions will be tolerated.

We were speculating about the knockout game and that if Whitey does it, he’ll be arrested and charged with a hate crime.
No more speculation; it’s a reality!

The only evidence they have against him is that he documented the alleged attack on video, told an fire department arson investigator about his alleged involvement in the attack and allegedly told others that he wanted to see if a white he could get national media attention by committing an alleged knock out game attack.

“I will not be prosecuting any white person that commits a crime against a black person.”
And this is exactly what Holder said, in reverse.
