Resist arrest as a drunk and you get what you deserve............GET IT?

Hey, YO! Hot Sauce.

Resist arrest as a drunk and you get what you deserve............GET IT?

In the military, I arrested or detained a boatload of drunks.

They can try your soul, I know, I know. One particular dude pushed me to the limit. I wanted jam my nightstick down his throat.

I wanted payback so much that I did what a lot of people do in that situation, I jammed those cuffs on so hard he screamed. Made me feel good.

I got an article 15 for that. Captain's Mast. The corpsman ratted me out. Because the drunk's hands were purple to almost black when he was put into the brig.

The brigmeisters got scared and called for corpsman.

The Old Man looked me straight in the face, (he wasn't a prude or even a tea teetotaler)

"Petty Officer, He was DRUNK, You Were NOT. So When Do You Become Unprofessional And Let A Drunk Drag You Down To His Level?"

"Sailor, He Is GI, Government Issue, One Each, An You, In A Fit Of Rage, Almost Cost The Taxpayers A Lot Of Money."

I did NOT lose a stripe, but I did lose half a month's pay.

The guy I busted? Got a RIR and loss of pay for two months.

Bottom line, I know just how damn frustrating it can be dealing with a drunk.

But the Old Man was correct. I wasn't drunk, and the Navy expected me to be professional and deal with it. And NOT let the drunk pull me down to his level.

Yea, the old girl got what she deserved, but because of my experience, I question the cops loss of control over the situation.

It sure as hell wasn’t some young buck fighting back.
I do still have some level of respect and courtesy in my being for those who are much older than I and I see no compelling reason to take the woman to the mat, while handcuffed. and make an example out of her. Too many cops seem to feel the need to brutalize when they have the upper hand and when they feel the macho urge to show their superiority simply because they wear a badge and carry a gun. It is no longer an isolated incident or just a very few who are doing this. Like the “knockout game”, when video catches them, the prevalence is revealed. When these sadists commit their acts, it is usually their union reps and crouching sycophants who argue how hard their jobs are and how they are exposed to the worst elements and how they should be given the benefit of doubts. Police are no better than the average citizens they are supposed to serve. Indeed, the fact they have such power means they should be cleaner and purer than the rest of society. I give them one chance. One screw-up. One mis-step. One miscalculation. That’s it. Once the line has been crossed, they are gone, fired, incarcerated. Period.

Nobody should be hassled “just because”. Liberty is incompatible.

Glynn County police investigating arrest [December 12, 2013]

click for article with details, and a picture of her bloodied face

(booking photo is kinda large, so I did not post it...if somebody remembers the HTML then reduce it a bit and post to the thread)

BRUNSWICK | A Glynn County police officer has been placed on administrative duty during an internal affairs investigation of his conduct in a Dec. 5 arrest on St. Simons Island in which a woman was thrown to the ground, the police chief said.

Chief Matt Doering said he had taken officer Kevin Jones off patrol until the investigation is complete.

snip. . .

Records from the Glynn County Detention Center show that Kathleen Mary Allegrone, 70, was booked early Dec. 6 on charges of driving under the influence and a felony charge of obstruction of a police officer.

She was released later the same day after posting a total of $7,558 in bail, records show.

I have heard of that before. I know there are many reasons for a person to seem chemically impaired. It seems to me that the vulgarity and coarseness in society is not limited to the inner city thugs or the maniacal left. It also seems to include many in law enforcement. Judicious use of force and prudence in dealing with the general public is what I expect/demand of those given the great privilege and power over that public. Once it became acceptable for cops to see the civilian population as “them”, they have become tyrants and nearly Gestapo-like in their attitudes. I rarely weep these days for a shot cop, because I am never certain if what happened was ordained to happen due to their actions and programming.

Nice post “Conrad”. Now YOU would have made a great civilian cop with your current attitude and your “lesson learned” while in service.

Now things would be a lot better if only all current cops had your attitude instead of the “if they resist, they deserve whatever they get” low-IQ (and pussy-like) attitude.

Has anyone stop to wonder whether both troopers and the people that they troop among are caught “in the middle” of something bad that’s larger than themselves?

I think that’s the case, and the something bad is godlessness.

Unless we are going to hire only devout Christian (and I will throw in with that, Jewish) police, then we are going to get this kind of trouble.

Yes, a stroke, a prescription drug interaction, even a kidney infection are all good excuses to give an elderly useless eater a good solid beat-down.

Officer acted reasonably in throwing 70-year-old woman to pavement, Glynn County police chief says

BRUNSWICK | Glynn County police officer Kevin Jones acted reasonably Dec. 5 when he threw a 70-year-old woman to the pavement on St. Simons Island and has been returned to full duties, county Police Chief Matt Doering said Saturday.

After Jones and another officer walked Allegrone to a patrol car as she continually resisted, she stiffened her arms to prevent being handcuffed and again dug her nails into Jones' hand and wrist, the report says.

At that point, Jones threw Allegrone to the pavement to stop the assault and was justified in doing so, Doering said.

Forget for a moment all the events proceeding it and I have one question: Do you really believe that forceful violent take down to the pavement of that old lady was absolutely needed by the cop to control the situation, as it unfolded at the exact point, it was performed? Yes or no?

He got away with a face slam this time. Now he can go for a face slam and a stomp next time. Who knows? A few more run-ins with little old ladies and he may get to add a righteous shoot to his resume!

So, if a cop physically hurts me while detaining me or “interacting” with me, I am justified in snapping his wrist/arm/neck, etc. to stop his attack?

Good to know.

Don't be silly, those rules only apply for them. We have a different set of rules we need to follow to the letter. No you can't see them, don't worry, they will make it CRYSTAL CLEAR that you've violated them should they ever want to claim you have...

And some FReepers can be counted upon to cheer them enthusiastically!
