You didnt see her slammed to the grown by that cop? Are you watching the same video I am? If you are watching the same video and dont think that was slamming her to the ground Im suggesting you might want to get your eyes checked.

She certainly did. I often find myself in fear for my life or limbs when confronted by a handcuffed 70 year old women. Especially when confronted in the presence of two large men of like mind. She might have broken a hip and beaten them with it.

I wonder if the police are even truly needed any longer.
Carry any weapon you need for protection and use it. Cops are not charged with preventing crime, they are there to investigate.

I suppose should for some reason your mother, wife, daughter, mistress be taken down in the same manner-even if they were not drunk or stoned, but having a medical issue- youd be OK with it.
Absolutely not! Why do you feel it necessary to bring in medical issues when this was a drunk driving issue?
Gotcha homey!..........sheesh!

You are not addressing his question. You are deflecting.
We won’t hold it against you if you just say “my bad”. We have all screwed up on forums at times.

I’m on the fence on this.
That slam was pretty rough, but this loon was drunk driving, resisting arrest, and being a psycho. If she had killed someone, would I give a damn that she was 70?
Age doesn’t make you a sweetheart, but it sure doesn’t explain why a cop half her age could not detain her without that action.
To: Hot Tabasco
Well, that’s about what I would expect. It makes me sad.

Ah. I see you were a soldier. Their is a big difference between soldiering and policing.
That’s a good example of why soldiers don’t always make good cops. Different mindset required.
It is also a good example of why a society should not place to much power in the hands of The State.

So it’s OK to shoot people on the spot for DUI and let the cops play judge and jury?SICKO!
To: DariusBane
Everyone so far has missed the most important point.
EVERYONE
That point is this: All the cops got to go home safely to their families that night.
Nothing else matters. Nothing.

I admit that I see that our government enforcers have gotten out of control - with the gunning down of the West Point graduate in the Las Vegas Costco; the assault and murder of the marine in his own home in Arizona; the murderous beating of the homeless mentally ill young man in Southern California; the suspension of rights and intimidation of the people in Boston after the pressure cooker bombing .... But I couldn't see anything objectionable in this video.
Maybe my eyes are bad ( they are), or the video was too blurry, but all I saw was a belligerent drunken sot (who had been driving and was a threat to the public) being taken aside by the police. They started polite. She was hostile (and not innocent), and then eventually one of the officers either lost his patience, or she fell. I could not tell, nor was I inclined to watch it a few times to ascertain the most likely cause of her fall or slam.
I agree that it was again wrong, and arrogant, of the other officer to try and intimidate the guy taking the video, but as for the actual 'offense' - I didn't see it as being out of line when handling a belligerent drunk driver.
