A top financial advisor, worried that Obamacare, the NSA spying scandal and spiraling national debt is increasing the chances for a fiscal and social disaster, is recommending that Americans prepare a bug-out bag that includes food, a gun and ammo to help them stay alive.
David John Marotta, a Wall Street expert and financial advisor and Forbes contributor, said in a note to investors, Firearms are the last item on the list, but they are on the list. There are some terrible people in this world. And you are safer when your trusted neighbors have firearms.

14 cents and up — WAY up — for .22LR is not “flush”. It’s a sign of a tight seller’s market.
I can get .22LR once in a blue moon at Academy Surplus for about a nickel a round... and THAT’s too expensive. I buy it, though, at that price.
But the market is NOT ‘flush’ with .22LR.
I understand that lotsa peeps do not want to order online; however, if somewhat desperate, they should to replenish stocks.

Yes, I am 308 as well, and cannot get brass under 50-55 cents per round. I will buy steel for general utility but prefer brass, and use good stuff for serious long range needs.
Anyone able to post links to a Bug Out Bag list? Wife, 2 toddlers and I will build one.
I understand peeps have their own price point, based on need, etc. If you can afford to wait, fine. But I will first ensure I have good stocks before being too concerned about a cost different of 5 cents a round for 22LR. It’s a far cry better than what it was 6-12 months ago. Just sayin...
Dood, that's like asking to publish the best eyeglass prescription.
Figure your needs for how long, and go from there.
Example: someone from Florida would need filtration for their water needs. Someone from Nevada would have to carry their water.
And if you shoot competitively, yes, I get it!! A much higher expense. But I believe we were talking SHTF stocks—general skirmish and should always have good stocks, etc., not smoking a thousand rounds a week on practice.
I plan on bugging in. Come and drag me out. I’m too old to run.

How much of that remanufactured stuff have you fired?
I have enjoyed nothing but spectacular failure when using it.
Of one was planning for the end of the world as we know it, wouldn’t ammo be an excellent item to trade? Assuming you trust the fellow you trade with.
Really? I have not fired much at all, couple hundred rounds, but had 1 misfire. Freedom Munitions. What have you had bad luck with?
Goodness. It was two or three years ago, so I don’t remember the name of the stuff, but I got it at Dick’s.
Never again.
Factory fresh for this little camper.
I only buy remans when it is a must or very inexpensive. And I certainly read the reviews. I would say that given the enormous needs of so many gun “advocates”, that the sloppy remans will likely fall by the wayside while the good ones bubble up. Happy hunting! :-)
Absolutely, ammo would be a primo barter item, as would be tobacco, fire water, spices, etc. But buy the mainstream rounds: 22, 9mm, 45, 223, AK 7.62, 308, 50 cal, etc., not the oddball stuff.
Trade value?
I’m willing to think about trading ammo but that’s risky business. If the people you trade don’t kill you others will hear of it and kill u
Same can be said of any valuable trade material when law and order have broken down.
why do you keep replying to yourself?
I know a couple of guys that can pick up a gun cold and be truly proficient, I’m not one of them, and you probably aren’t either, not much time to practice after things go into the pot.
PING!!
