(CNSNews.com) - Turning on the Christmas lights on a house or a Christmas tree this November cost Americans more on average than it has before, as the seasonally adjusted electricity price index hit an all-time high in the United States in November, according to data released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The average price for a kilowatt hour of electricity also set a record for the month of November, according to BLS.

A War on Coal will do that.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Unexpectedly?
Obama said that his policies would make electricity prices go up.
2007 (the peak) was 3890 bkwh
2012 was 3823 bkwh, higher than any year previous to 2007

The only decorations we put up is a two foot tall Christmas tree on the counter. We’re buying no gifts for anyone. Not even for each other. Christmas has gotten way too commercial. We will rejoice and celebrate His birth. That’s what we’re supposed to do.
Obama said that his policies would make electricity prices go up.
Why is it that the ONLY thing obamaramadingdong is successful at is screwing the American people, the honest, God loving American people that is.
I don’t give a damn what it costs. I use old fashioned incandescent Christmas lights, just like the ones we used when I was a kid. Those wimpy little LEDs don’t cut it.
I’m expecting the Green Police to raid my house any day now.
“Unexpectedly?
Obama said that his policies would make electricity prices go up.”
He used the phrase “would necessariy skyrocket”
You know this statement alone should have sank his chances of ever getting reelected.
necessarily***
BTW, I will always decorate my house with Christmas lights.
Michelle also told us what her husband is about:
“Barack Obama will require you to work. He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism. That you put down your divisions. That you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.”
(Andy Rooney voice) Did you ever notice how some morons put up so many Christmas lights that it all turns into white light and lights up the front of their house?
They might as well put out some white spot lights and a big sign that says: “Hey! Look at me!”
You know, I been in graduate studies after work for a couple years now. I think this would qualify as trying to better myself. However, since this jerk has been President, I have less and less money available to pay my tuition, despite receiving about a 3-4% raise each year. Hard to improve yourself, at least with education of any kind, when there is less money available to pay for such endeavors
I guess we should enjoy riding around and looking at the Christmas lights while we can. By Dec. 2014 all will be dark.
Sure will. And so will the lock-step politicization of state public utilities commissions. My bill from Southern California Edison has increased about 150% in the last 18 months and each month's bill has a new notice about applications to the PUC for additional rate increases. The world has gone mad.
Can we say, “Globull warming bull, mixed with EPA retardation?”
I can not stand LED Christmas lights... especially outside at night when driving. The 60 hertz flicker in my peripheral vision as I drive past is so distracting... I even notice this when I am indoors and just moving past decorations like in shops about sends me into a siezure. At least it’s not CFLs though... looking directly at one of those makes me feel like hurling.
