We were flat out wrong."
Thats the message Cracker Barrel is sending to enraged customers after the restaurant chain removed Duck Dynasty items from its stores over fears it might offend people.
Our intent was to avoid offending but thats just what weve done, Cracker Barrel said in a statement posted on its Facebook page. You told us we made a mistake. And, you werent shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings.
One of those customers was Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council. He said his family has eaten in nearly every Cracker Barrel in the country.
Cracker Barrel must be off their rocker, he said in a statement to Fox News. For Cracker Barrel to take the bait of an organization like GLAAD, which has led the attack on Phil Robertson, they are betraying the values of the vast majority of their customers.

Not eating at Cracker Barrel is a sin???
To spite Cracker Barrel for a brief act of fear would be a sin. Exercise the golden rule for a change.
That explains a lot.
Now, if they fire the executive who made that first decision I’ll know which side they are on.
Even yet, would you rather she learn or do you just want to drum her out in revenge. “Vengeance is mine” saith the Lord.
How about firing up that executive with more courage?
I know this sounds almost... like something Jesus would suggest. Aw, so impractical! Well no, not when God is immanent.
No, we go back when we know that they have changed. We know they have changed when their management is changed. Apologizing is nothing. They lost what 2 days of sales. Big deal. They need to be the example to other companies of how much clout we have and how we are fed up with the gays before anyone else ideology.
Still though millions upon millions of the American people vote for “homo”-friendly candidates all the time. And that’s in both parties.
Oh my you have so much clout to destroy.
How about the clout to build up.
And I’d like to bring that very personally close to home. How many of you are honoring God in your OWN bodies? So that a homo could see how it’s supposed to be done in a church? Last time I looked the divorce rate was the same for professed believers as unbelievers. You could start building up there before you go scapegoating others for a trouble that started with churches losing their salt and light!!
There is NO mention of husband, children or family any dozens of biographical websites, but there is this:
Lebanon, TN: Home to Cracker Barrel, Cedar Trees, and Growing LGBT Employee Resource Groups
"Next, Laura Daily, Senior Vice President of Retail shared part of Cracker Barrels diversity and inclusion journey, and how their newly revamped employee resource groups with the LGBT Alliance being one of three established ERGs -- as being crucial to the companys success, where the two words that best describe their philosophy for creating an inclusive and productive environment for guests, employees, vendors and shareholders are, pleasing people. Cracker Barrel demonstrated their commitment to this philosophy and support for such diverse programming and engagement as several additional leaders attended the event, including Terry Deas, Director Diversity & Outreach, Edward A. Greene,Senior Vice President, Strategic Initiatives, Doug Barber EVP, Chief People Officer, and Sandra B. Cochran, President and CEO."

“Then everybody kisses and makes up. No harm, no foul to them or their bottom line. What did that show them? Nothing.”
Exactly. These companies need to discover there are a WHOLE LOT MORE folks out there than the “perpetually offended” PC crowd...folks that are ready, willing and able to crush their company should the company succumb to this PC crapola.
Yes, this is happening in many places that seemed to be bastions of conservatism. I personally watched it happen in Dollar General, with its long Christian history.
Well one could take the crude approach and try to boycott. The history of boycotts (the SBC knows a lot about that) is spotty at best.
Seeking a constructive approach would be better and in keeping with the Git-R-Done work of Christ. Beef up the REST of each such company, so that these worms have nowhere to go, if they won’t repent on their own. Let God take care of chastisement that has to go along with it.
Do these F-ing people not know who their customer base is????/
Oh yeah the Glaad crowd is always down at cracker barrel for the hash brown casserole....
Wake the F up people.... This idiot should be fired.... KNOW YOUR BRAND KNOW YOUR BASE.
Correct link:
More important is that their master is God.
The servants aren’t called to exercise the vengeance that God reserves to Himself.
As one who enjoys the CB menu selections, I do not think the restaurant chain apologized out of conviction but out of desire for business sales.
Looks like HAAP (Hetero and Absolutely Proud) made the bigger statement. Not surprising, since we represent 80+% of the population.
I think that if we keep prayer focused on the situation... that light would shine in Cracker Barrel... this person might be given one more chance but if that fails, some reason will be found or some circumstance will change, and that person will be out. Give God some credit for being astute to the crooked. Worldly ways are less deft than His masterful hand.
It’s not as SATISFYING to our worldly guts when we see that take place. But God smiles. He would even rather the offending person see the light, than to lose that person. And so He may give them a while to remain among Christian company.
The P is the problematic part.
How about Glorious in the Glory of Christ. Which includes strategic sacrifice.
Interesting you mention Dollar General....guess who is their director.....none other than Cracker Barrel’s CEO Sandra B. Cochran:
