OTTAWA — The Supreme Court of Canada struck down all current restrictions on prostitution on Friday, including bans on brothels and on street solicitation, declaring the laws were unconstitutional because they violated prostitutes' safety.
The sweeping 9-0 decision will take effect in one year, inviting Parliament to try to come up with some other way to regulate the sex trade if it chooses to do so.
Prostitution is technically legal in Canada but most related activities have been illegal, including living off the avails of someone else's prostitution, but the court found that the provisions were overly broad or grossly disproportionate.

First. I didn't mean to imply that it happened in America.
Second. The war was over and I never heard of or saw post-war USO activities "over there."

That is (or was - it’s been raised to 16) is the legal age of consent for sexual relations, and there are a number of restrictions regarding relationships where the older person is in a position of power or influence, for example teachers, Scout leaders, etc.
I don’t know if that means we are now in the same absurd position as some US states where two 15 year olds having consensual sex could both be charged with statutory rape (or something similar), or a 16 year old sleeping with their 15 year old boy/girl friend faces being declared a sex offender for life.
Sad that Canada is becoming a gangster state with our own nation not far behind.

Bear in mind that SCOTUS Justices Breyer and Ginsburg believe that our SCOTUS should be guided by the decisions of the courts of other nations. Applying that “standard,” SCOTUS might encourage and legalize such prostitution as is practiced by Reid, McConnell, Durbin, Cornyn, Blumenthal, Boehner, Pelosi, Cantor, McCarthy, and their ilk.
Well, then in the case of sexual depravity, we’d be wise to follow the wisdom of Russia as of late.
I’m waiting for the APA(Affordable Prostitute Act).
I expect that all of my current prostitutes will have to quit as they don’t provide the minimum required services.

One thing I’ve learned from CSI and Criminal Minds is that prostitutes very seldom die of old age.
In most of the US the age of consent is 16, but I think a few are still 14.
