SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) New Mexico's highest court has legalized same-sex marriage, declaring it is unconstitutional to deny a marriage license to gay and lesbian couples.
The state Supreme Court issued its ruling Thursday. New Mexico joins 16 states and the District of Columbia in allowing gay marriage.
Eight of the state's 33 counties have started issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples since August, when a county clerk in southern New Mexico independently decided to allow the unions.

Merry Christmas, brother G.... God bless the family!!
Let’s all make next year a better one.
Did God create Adam and Steve as the first men and tell them to go forth and adopt?
re-read my comments dude...i said even if 'they' say it, NOT me, it still doesnt change the fact that theyre required to resist the sin, just like eveybody else when faced with habitual sin...
imo, queer sex lust is simply learned behavior...
deep breath buddy, you mis-read my comments...
Same comment to you.
I was making a case that those opposing gay rights should not be agreeing with Dems that gays are the same as a different race or sex, that they should call it 'homosexual behavior', and why.
And you swoop in and ping me with :
“I disagree, bla-bla-bla”
Know what you are disagreeing with.,
Just the other day (Saturday) I got done with another freeper who swooped onto one of my comments and starts disagreeing with a point I never made, as if he didn't even read what he was disagreeing with, or care what I really posted.
In fact his last comment to me pulled just three words out of a the middle of a sentence I posted, and he disagrees with that.
Then you ping me with 'I disagree', and you make an argument against something I didnt even post.
I never posted that we should marry gays if they claim that they were born that way.
I was saying that those opposing gay rights (like us) need to stop agreeing that homosexuality is like race or sex.
Those are two very different arguments.
Yet other questions to ask...just to watch ‘em twist into a pretzel
If this is a Right, why would one need a ‘license’?
Then inter-State carry ‘licenses’ are therefore good across the whole of the U.S.? Again, see #1.
I do like the taxes path. Oh, one can hear the gnashing of teeth upon that enigma.
same comment back at ya buddy...nowhere did i give a pass to the spineless pols that appease the queers and their 'born that way' defense...
i simply stated that even if they do, its still NOT a valid defense, by either them or the queers...
anyway, "Marriage" is really a contract with God, and mans petty meddling and 'law' writing to mock Him with have consequences...
its going to happen, always has in history once the slippery slope of sexual revolution waters down principles...
It was here when you said “NOPE” to my point which was saying you disagree with my point to not make sexual orientation into a protected minority discriminants like race and sex.
I am sorry for the misunderstanding by me.
I think your NOPE was to my rhetorical question in my point, and not the point I was making.
It was ‘Were gays designed to be attracted to the same sex by God’s hand, the way there are blacks and Asians who are born as difference races? ‘
And you said NOPE to that.
You were agreeing with me not disagreeing with me.
Like I said, I had another freeper annoying me about this by responding to stuff I never posted.
Sorry again.
I think.
we all need a Redeemer, and this is the time of year to celebrate the perfection of His plan by offering a part of Himself to buy us back from our sinful natures, normal and queer...
we have to give back self-will and embrace the Christ as the one capable of paying for our sin...
thats the reason for the season, and Merry CHRISTmas is a good thing, despite what our 'leaders' would push us towards, in all manner of sinful human follies...
Peace to you and yours...
The classification comprising those who are eligible for a civil marriage license are anyone the state desires. The classification comprising those who are eligible to form a natural marriage are able to transfer natural guardianship rights to a father in exchange for an acquired natural right to coverture. Marriage legislation most often deals with civil marriage license issues and infect other legislation dealing with the care and placement of dependent children. The distinction has been masked to affect a remarkable invasion of an abuse of power between the state and family level of government. Those who are unable to transfer or create such natural rights as a natural marriage confers are not similarly situated as those who are. There is far more to marriage than love and affection. There are far too few who know the difference.
