KINGS PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) The song Silent Night is at the heart of a concert controversy on Long Island.
Kings Park school officials removed several religious references, including Holy infant and Christ the Savior, from the popular Christmas carol before a student concert last week, WCBS 880′s Mike Xirinachs reported.
The intent was to avoid offending non-Christians, but the change left others upset.

I see the problem right in verse #1. These days, if you’re older than 13 its not cool to be a virgin and its tough to find a word that rhymes with skank.
This expunging of Jesus by the Left, is going to come back to haunt them.
Look at the most evil players in history, and you’ll quite often find people who expunged Jesus (Christians) from their lives.
The churches always suffer under these tyrants, and their minions actions.
Maybe these morons should avoid offending Christians.
If you are going to take Holy Infant and Christ the Saviour out of Christmas songs, you should drop the whole holiday. Oh wait, stop using the word “holiday” as well.
Now that is really interesting. The words to that song explicitly celebrate the reason for the season-”Joy to the world, the Lord has come. Let earth receive its King!” I love it!
