Former Top NSA Official: “We Are Now In A Police State”
Zero Hedge ^ | December 18, 2013 | George Washington

Posted on 12/18/2013 6:50:47 PM PST by Perseverando

Bill Binney is the high-level NSA executive who created the agency’s mass surveillance program for digital information. A 32-year NSA veteran widely regarded as a “legend” within the agency, Binney was the senior technical director within the agency and managed thousands of NSA employees.

Binney has been interviewed by virtually all of the mainstream media, including CBS, ABC, CNN, New York Times, USA Today, Fox News, PBS and many others.

Last year, Binney held his thumb and forefinger close together, and said:

We are, like, that far from a turnkey totalitarian state.

But today, Binney told Washington’s Blog that the U.S. has already become a police state.

By way of background, the government is spying on virtually everything we do.

All of the information gained by the NSA through spying is then shared with federal, state and local agencies, and they are using that information to prosecute petty crimes such as drugs and taxes. The agencies are instructed to intentionally “launder” the information gained through spying, i.e. to pretend that they got the information in a more legitimate way … and to hide that from defense attorneys and judges.

This is a bigger deal than you may realize, as legal experts say that there are so many federal and state laws in the United States, that no one can keep track of them all … and everyone violates laws every day without even knowing it.

The NSA also ships Americans’ most confidential, sensitive information to foreign countries like Israel (and here), the UK and other countries … so they can “unmask” the information and give it back to the NSA …

Bingo.

Do you really think you can trust the leftists and power elites with your personal info?

Ever go down to your town hall and give them a hard time about anything? Do you know how pissed they get and how quickly they will retaliate? Happens every day.

I once made the mistake of calling the post office because the mailman let my grandmother’s mail blow all over the street. I called not to complain, just to ask if the social security checks were in the mail that day so we would know it was lost.

Next day the response? A notice that her mailbox is inadequate and she must get a new one or they will stop delivering her mail!

Ask Petraeus what they do with the info they gather.

Why would he make this statement if he is in favor of it?

The Dem and GOPe clowns that favor this crap do whatever they can to make it sound benign.

Yep, they are in favor of it. And BTW, most GOP members of Congress oppose Obamacare only because they sense ephemeral political advantage... they will never repeal key parts of it unless forced...

I wonder if John Roberts would recuse himself if he had to rule on NSA data collection?

The FBI pulled a dynamic entry on Binney WHILE HE WAS IN THE SHOWER.

hey literally broke down his door, pointed guns at the heads of his kids, crashed up the stairs, busted into his bathroom and pushed aside his shower curtain with the muzzle of a rifle —and those men did all that knowing NO details of the stuff Binney had been working on.

“Go get this bad guy...” & nothing more.

Maybe John Roberts should head to South America where his kids were born.

I had a neighbor in Florida that complained about a parking ticket. He took it to court with legitimate complaints. He got a parking ticket 2 weeks later because a car registered in his name was parked legally, but facing the wrong way by one of his kids in front of his own house. He somehow got someone to look up the state statute (hard to do if you don’t know anyone), and it was a legal citation.
