China deserves all the congratulations in the world for landing its first spacecraft on the Moon. Its a big deal both for China and humanity at large. But can somebody please explain why the background image at this exhibit for Chinas recently deployed Yutu Rover depicts a massive mushroom cloud over Europe? [ ]
The most likely explanationthe one were hoping for, anywayis that this was just an unfortunate diplomatic oversight. As a redditor by the name of wigg1es points out, the backdrop is actually a stock image [
] Still, there are undoubtedly those who will interpret the choice of image as a deliberate gesture.

Obama acts and talks just like a 1940’s totally-pwned Soviet asset. Big peace talk, and slimy little Red friends with MGB/NKVD code names.
You sure? What if they went after the Vatican instead? Strategic-level target: ask the Russians.
Worth repeating, several times. Lewinskygate blew the growing stories about Clinton and Wen Ho Lee and Loral Corporation right off page one into the Sunday Supplement.
The mushroom cloud is slight to the east of a straight line going up the center of the Persian Gulf. That’s not Europe, that’s Moscow.
But, as I said earlier, the ChiComs didn’t create the graphic or draw the target. So maybe in their minds the target did look like it was more towards Europe. It wouldn’t make any sense whatsoever that they would want to target Russia. The two are closer than they’ve ever been. They’ve been conducting joint military games since 2005. They’re coordinating their miltaries against us and our European allies. Plus they’ve been making such threats towards us. Check out the things I posted above. It’s all very logical. Right, “Mr Logic”? (logi-cal)
I would think that the department that can send a spacecraft to the moon could put a string on a globe and see that it was Moscow. Don't forget Hitler and Stalin, there is no honor among thieves.
But maybe it's just a picture that was meaningless.
Perhaps they meant to imply that “someone” (the US?) was a pending threat to nuke their comrades in Moscow? And that’s why they, with eventual Russian help, needed to set up missile bases there.
:)
Could be.
