New York politicians push legislation to allow undocumented immigrants to apply for a driver's license
The number of deported immigrants under President Obama is approaching the 2 million mark and immigration reform has become once again no more than a rapidly-fading illusion. Yet, here in New York, some politicians and community leaders are working to alleviate the immigrants’ situation by allowing the undocumented to legally apply for a driver’s license. “A driver’s license will provide undocumented immigrants much more employment flexibility,” said state Sen. José Peralta who, along with Sen. Adriano Espaillat and with the support of Make the Road New York and other community groups, introduced legislation last October to provide undocumented New Yorkers access to driver’s licenses. Espaillat had introduced a similar bill before that would have granted driving privileges only to DREAMers. “My bill includes everyone and Espaillat supports it,” Peralta said.

I read a blog comment somewhere that Mike Bloomberg wondered why the Mexicans cross the border into the southwest. He wondered why dont they just teleport themselves into NYC’s sanctuary city.
Check out the names of these state traitors-—er, senators: José Peralta and Adriano Espaillat. Where do their loyalties lie? Certainly NOT with the NY taxpayers who will have to pay for this illiterate needy horde sucking up tax dollars like nobody’s business and giving little but basic day laboring services for it.

The article says that Obama deported 2 million illegals. If that’s true, then there are only 9 million left in the US?
Just think... It a real effort was made, we could deport at least 3-4 million a year. In less then 10 years, ALL illegals would be deported. And the politicians say it couldn’t be done.

Shouldn’t that putz, Holder, being suing them for doing the Federal government’s job? If it’s “unconstitutional” for Arizonans to throw them out of our state, it sure as hell is “unconstitutional” for the leftwing bozos in New Yawk to issue them a driver’s license. Besides, America already has enough drunks out there driving on our roads. We don’t need to be importing them.
It’ll never happen. New York floated this drivers license idea 7-8 years ago and it sank like submarine with screen doors.
California already does it. Also Oregon, Washington State, Colorado—there are more.
